I think it would be beneficial to have the hotlappers as a gauge for how well the balancing works.
Maybe with a benchmark mode that adds up the times for a few tracks, considered to be relevant for that class, in order to see if the cummulative times are roughly equal.

+1 definitely helpful for further balancing. I don't know if an automated solution is possible, but that would probably have to be made by Victor through LFSWorld?

And for a non-automated system all we need are volunteers capable of wr-times who post their hlvc's in a dedicated thread on the forum (I'm just glad that I'm not even remotely close to wr-times, so that's no work for me :tilt

Yeah. A test patch rank or something with 5 or so different combos for each car class (TBO, GTR) to see how it plays out. Maybe a small reward to get more people hotlapping? Like a T-shirt or something

ive got a feeling that adding those handicapped combos to the hotlap ranking system is all the incitement biggie and flotch need to get going
