Metal noise in the back
I'm wondering if anybody ever did hear a metal noise in the back when you accelerate at a high rpm. For me it is just for the XFR, XRR, FXR, FZ50.
This appeared with the V patch.
The ballasts rattling loose?
You have a secret passenger. Lock your doors when you go to bed tonight.
Metal noise?

Popcorn engine? Gear whine?
its the gear whine id say
It is the engine
There are no ghosts, no balast or a broken engine

You don't hear that?

I have my PC on the surround HiFi and that makes it pretty loud and it's very annoying.
Again, gear whine? Does it get louder in reverse?
No, in revers gear is nothing to hear.
You should try to record the sound, or we'll never find out what this is. Maybe you have broken rear speakers
mmmmm, how should I do that.
and anyway, you have to have the same sound as me, why should I have a different sound
It may be the engine sound clipping. Check shift-A and see if the red text appears at the same time as the noise starts.
Setup too low and scraping the ground?
with his description you guys could be guessing for ages
@Hyperactive
what the heck is that menu, never seen before
maybe it is this but I am not sure. It does not always appear while it is to hear.
Can I turne it off (can't see a clipping option)

@illegal
nope

@mattlikespeoples
it's not easy to explain
OK. It's the gear whine.
Damn what a weird noise

Thanks for the help guys
nice video

but not the same like in LFS
In LFS is more like those metal bells from the alpine cows
*ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding*
they have not even sequential in the GTR, that's strange
Haha, the first racer at Spa is downshifting too quickly

Doesn't look like any of them where doing any of that fancy Heel-toe and double clutch crap I keep hearing about either.

Ive never been in one of these but i always have an impression that such loud whine sound in recordings is due to mikes that are likely to present hi and midtone range (voice range) more than lowend sound. So i would have to hear coverage from some driver if these recorded sounds are the same as the one live.

btw. great job with new sounds

In case you were driving the UF, it is quite possible that a cow tried to overtake..

I've seen Mini Coopers (the real thing.....not today's 'Fat-Mini') racing on the Nürburgring and I can tell you that the most noticable sound (from the outside) was the gear whine.....and they were impressively loud

CU, Sebastian

PS: Don't get me wrong.....I actually like the new Mini (not as much as I loved the old one though ) and had a chance to test-drive the latest Cooper S last week.....this thing is almost scary.....175hp and FWD but still lots of traction.....I think it would be a cool car to take to the Nordschleife on the weekend, but I was searching for an everyday-car so I took a boring BMW
