Gah, hey, I worked hard to make a team, and learn to be moderately skilled when I drift, yes drift, something 70% of you hate.

Also, I know there are alot of new people. But hey, take away your control scheme, turn speeds, and go play burnout 3 for an hour, then come back to LFS and try to play. It's almost like being a noob again

Just be easy on the new guys, they don't get hooked by being insulted. I know plenty of people who quit because they were insulted for crashing. It's sad, really :|

My point is, when there is nothing to complain about, dont complain. If he went around and banned everyone, copied names or the whatnot, then you can insult em or whatever. Just, if they make a mistake, remember, they, and you will race again. When it is your last race ever, be free to eat the souls of those who crash you (Hopefully I am joking :P)
Quote from SLIDE WAYZ :i was in a server half an hour ago and on turn 3 of the SO town regular track some guy nocks me from the right which bumps me into the rear of the guy in front, so i say sorry even tho it werent my fault. the guy i accidently bumped then chased me round the next few bends and down the straight befor the hairpin he spins me out on purpose like a police PIT manouver!!! argh

That is known as revenge wrecking and is a banable offence on STCC servers.
If you really did nothing wrong yousrelf ,then always save a replay and report the incident here http://license.ukct.net/report.asp
Wreckers are not wanted or tolerated on STCC servers, and the admins do a great job of keeping the true idiots off the servers.
The only way to keep that behaviour out of STCC is to report it.

Save a replay always. Two reasons for this.. one, you can determine much easier whether someone does something deliberately if you watch the event from their perspective.. two, the STCC admins WILL take action against deliberate wreckers. Send us a replay of someone performing a pit move on you, and we'll get out the electrodes.

[edit] cheers Moosey! I need to learn to type faster

Bloody right, 10 mins is very slow for a message of that length

Ohh, you have electrodes? I'll shut up then take as long as you like to type

thanks ill bear that inmind from now on
the guys race name was BARTON if thats any help lol
how do i save a reply? im not too familiar with keyboard short cuts as ive only had the game a week
Hi.....

Advantages of saving replays are that you might for example notice that

A. the other driver did it on purpose.

B. the other driver made a mistake and did not make it on purpose.

C. both or all drivers involved behaved 'subotimal' and should have known better.

D. you made a mistake yourself.

E. you made a really stupid mistake that made you look like you did it on purpose.

There have been quite some situations where I had a gut feeling that my opponent wanted to take me out, just to notice (while watching the replay) that I forced him into an unfortunate position where he had no other choice than to make contact.....

Replays can be great tools to improve your own racing skills

Quote from tristancliffe :A newbie is someone new to something - everyone is a newbie at some point.
A noob is someone, of ANY experience, who does things only a newbie would do, or never learns, or refuses to learn, or who makes a newbie mistake.

Interresting, thank you. I thought that both terms are same. Until now.

I find 'noob' is best used as a derogatory term for the idiots that just don't learn, whereas 'rookie' would be more appropriate for newcomers/newbies
Well, I'm not that good yet.....middle of the road. But FAR better than I was a couple weeks ago when I started. That is due to practice and the GREAT help and support that I've received form some really good people That's just made the game THAT much more fun. Truthfully, I find some of the "middle-of-the-road" players (like myself)...to be some of the worst to race with. I don't mind people doing "silly" things....but I DO hate when someone "unrealistically" plows into you in T1 and usea you as a cushion so that they can take the turn faster than they should....slide into you sideways....they bounce straight...and your in the grass

I have FASTER racers on my tail...and getting under me ALL THE TIME . They aren't racing realistically. In a real race, your don't just plow into a car because your faster....you wait for the proper moment and pass him CLEAN.

When I have a racer behind me that is CLEARLY fast than me....I let him pass. This keeps the race going smooth...and is better than trying to "block" him...and then one of us (if not both) end up off the track.

Sometimes the FAST racers are SO concern with there lap time and the competition that they are WORSE than a noob!

And sometimes the FAST racers are just good guys, that help you out...race clean...and even let you get the best out of a turn, to avoid a crash. These are truly FUN players and make this game really worth while.

We all should try to be a little more like some of those cats

For what it's worth
