Are you a PC gaming snob?

I'm not a PC snob, but since Playstation launched in around 1995 or something, I can think of maybe 10-20 console games from the past 10 years that I found even remotely interesting.
i dont call myself a pc snob cuz i know jack sh*t bout it
yeah i'm a pc snob

i dont see how prefering my PC (better CPU = Better physics = LFS!) to a console makes me a snob, thats like saying, "hey, you prefer blue to green, you must be a posh bastard!"
As much as I've been using PCs for gaming almost exclusively for about 14 years (with a brief PC-less period in the mid-90s because I was always on tour, where I had an N64) I still think the best games I've ever played (and I've been playing games since about 1980) were on the SNES.

I could never be a PC gaming "snob" because I know a good game when I see it, and there are rarely any games of that kind of quality around any more.
Wow, I never realized this about myself. I am 90% PC Snob, simply because I've never heard those strange names before.

Not to mention I have a friend at work who regularly comes into my office and disrupts my work* to tell me about his 1000HP Supra in GT4 and how amazing it is blah blah. He desperately wants to try LFS, since I am always scoffing at his kids toy... I showed him the attached screenshot and informed him that this is the proper way to play sims

Hahahaha. Sock it to 'em, BBT.
only own a PC, BUT i really like playing Nintendo and some PS2 stuff as long i can play it with friends. I really like this direct 1 on 1 competiton you don't get from playing at a PC.

so not really a PC snob
Well, someone didn't do their homework: Consoles are so "weak" because they use special chipsets, only suited for the use in a console. Why else did you have to have quite a machine to get a PS2 emulator running? Reduced Instruction Set Computing is in fact quite a bliss, you wouldn't want to need a 2 GHz CPU for your car... at least I hope

edit: Point 2: Consoles are forever! Nothing beats Super Mario World on the good old Nintendo Entertainment System

Er, it was on the SNES, not the NES, but yes it was maybe the best game ever made I'll agree with that. This is why I still maintain Shigeru Miyamoto is the undisputed king of computer games. Doesn't matter how many evenings I wasted on DOOM, old-school Mario still represents the best that gaming has ever had to offer.
mario was a simple jump n run with little truely noteworthy about it
Naw dude, Mario was the run & jump which makes it utterly noteworthy. Its succes has meant that it's spawned enough sequels and spinoffs that you could play only Marioware for years and probably never catch up

Not that I keep up with platformers much - Skullmonkeys was the last one I put any effort into (bloody brilliant game that).

Ah but there were so many noteworthy aspects about it. The power-ups were really kooky - like the feather: You could fly, but only in one direction, but if you accidentally figured it out, you could turn around and fly the other way too. The different coloured Koopas were interesting too because of the way they interacted with eachothers' shells. Knock a blue Koopa and a yellow Koopa out of their shells and get one to climb into the wrong shell, you get a super-duper spinning hardcore shell monster! Get Yoshi to eat it and he can fly and stomp on enemies!

It was so much more than a simple platformer! I loved that game.
if anything the single best platformer is bubble bobble

Bub & Bob rock!
My brother and I used to spend hours in the living room, playing 2P Bubble Bobble on the C64 - ya gotta love a PC you could plug into the TV with an RF cable. It still blows my mind what was possible with only 64 tiny little KB!
I've just remembered another killer platformer/shooter btw - Turrican. One of the best ever C64 games, a real cult classic.
Bubble Bobble on the C64 was my favourite version, much better in my mind than the PC version or even the arcade version! I remember all those little rituals you did to try and make things happen, like secret doorways and the like- It was a really fun and magical world, full of surprises and superstitions. Also, 100 levels was just enough to tackle with your friend during an afternoon.. There really hasn't been anything like it since.

Sorry, I meant Bros.
Im 100% a PC Snob, I wont ever buy a £450 PS3.

Consoles should be more like the Wii and leave the serious gaming down to the PC.
I'm not really a PC snob, but some of those points are valid for me too.

I got my Wii and am loving it, but just because it's really different. I'd never pay £450 for a console that's going to out of date by next year. I could get a Dx10 gfx card for less than that and be good for longer
