A Guide to racing the UF1 Cup
After the practice race,

The following observations should be made.

Qualifying

During qualifying treat others as you would be treated yourself. Do not exit the pit lane straight onto traffic on a hot lap.

Always have your radars on and proceed onto the track only when it is clear.

This is particularly in the first round at South City Sprint 2 Reverse, where the pitlane enterance leads out directly onto the racing line and in the braking zone for turn one.

After Qualifying make sure you have got your race fuel onboard. If you run out of fuel on the race course you must specate imediately, do not let your car become a dangerous obstacle.

Damaged cars
If your car becomes damaged in Qualifying, go back to the pits and repair it. If you are found to be driving a badly damaged car and you crash causing an accident with other drivers and your car was 'significantly' damgd prior to the accident, you have to make yourself accountable to the stewards and you could lose points etc etc.

Race
Feature Races are on average 30 minutes long, this means that banzai first lap moves will rarely result in victory. Also with the UF1 being a comparatively 'slow car' the key here is to race cleanly and fast.
Just becuase a passing oppotunity arises you should not ALWAYS have to take it, particulalry at a course such as SO3R or SO2 where there are plenty of walls to wreck your suspension and write your car off.

Remember also that SO 3R and SO 2 have NO pits during the race, therefore if your car becomes damaged you have no chance to repair it.

Therefore slow and damaged cars WILL be dangerous in these opening rounds, therefore i suggest a 'cut off time'
If your car becomes damaged and you can not drive laps of SO3R in less than 1 min you should seriously think about retiring from the race.

If your car becomes damaged at SO 2 i would suggest that a max time of 1 min 20 be imposed before retiring from the race.

YELLOW FLAGS
If a yellow flag is indicated on your screen, it means that there is danger a head, this may mean a recovering car, a spun car or a multiple car accident.
You are required to use common sense during this time and drive at a sensible speed.
Any driver found to not respect the yellow flags and then have an accident will be heavily punished.
You are only permitted to overtake crashed or recovering cars, NOT car which have slowed down to respect the yellow flags.
Any incidents that arise during this time will be heavily punished (see below)

BLUE FLAGS
The Blue Flag rule is there to 'assist' leading cars pass the slower lapped cars. It does not mean, beep your horn flash your lights and ramm the slower guy off the road to get passed.
It also does not mean that the person with the blue flag should immediately stop or slow that the cars can pass at the next corner.

For UF1 driving the blue flag maybe shown for some time before the guy behind is slowed by the guy in front. Therefore allow people to pass when they get close. Always do it on a straight (either wairt to floor it - or ease off gentely on the straight. Please don't make people risk themselves trying to pass around a corner etc etc.

If in doube use your mirrors and be sensible Again , treat others as you expect to be treated yourself.

REVERSE DRIVING
Under no circumstances will driving the wrong way be tollerated!

CHAT
Please during official qualifying and race session do not use the chat channel. All protests and disagrements can be resolved after the race - it just makes it that much harder to marshall with un necessary chat. Please do not chat until after all racers have finished the final lap, this does not mean when you have crossed the line

REVERSE GRID.
After race 1 there will be a 3-5 min break After that the second track will load up.

At that point the Marshalls will call people onto the grid. Please only 'join race' when it is your turn, also do not ready up until the marshall gives the green light.

LAG START
will ALWAYS OCCUR before each race. Once the 2 Marshalls have confirmed no laggers, we take the proper start and go RACING

AFTER RACE
Go practice for the next week!

APPEALS
Just remember that any incidences during qualifying or racing that you think deserves the attention of the Stewards should be posted in the Appeals Post that will appear in this forum.
