Bump Drafting/Passing and Blue flags :)
Hey guys,

after a few practice races on SO3R last night it is clear that bump drafting is not a good idea, therefore please bear this in mind that any accident resulting from bump drafting will looked down upon.

Also bear in mind that passing here relies on the person in front making genuine mistakes otherwise it may take several laps to actually force an opening.

Also, on one of the server last night we had several division 2 drivers..

When you go offline or spin, please make sure that you recover safely. In practice, don't just pit out, make sure or get used to being able to recover the car properly otherwise it will be a nightmare in the race.

Also when blue flags are shown, you don't have to stop just bear in mind that the leaders are coming up and make sure you keep an eye on which way they are passing you

Regards,

Dru
I do would like to stress the almost impossibility of passing on this track, so please be careful. The only real possibilities to pass is when someone makes a mistake, outbraking someone is not a real option on so3r.
Very sound advise.

When you see a blue flag keep racing till you can see them clearly in your mirrors and then allow them to pass when it is SAFE to do so, ie not on a corner. It is the responsibility of BOTH drivers :rally_dri to make BLUE flag passing easy and safe. Yes the lead car has right of way but they dont not have the right to end the back markers race, they too are racing for points.

I for one believe there will be alot of back marker passing in this league especially on the shorter tracks. Some of the tracks do not have a pit for repairs so it is imperitive that no accidents are caused by drivers not having track awareness.

Remember there are points for ALL finishers.

not +1 but +2
I'd also like to ask drivers to simply spectate if there car is severely damaged and you can't drive a lap within 1 minute. If you can't drive within 1 minute there is a big possibility that you won't drive 80% of the racing distance and won't be classified (no points).
So if you feel you can't do that, please do yourself a favor (because driving a wrecked car and seeing blue flag for 30 minutes is no fun), and the other drivers as well (moving chicanes are no fun on this track).

Yup - i did put a rule about this time on another post, but best as well reiterate it here..

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=23686

60 second cut off for SO3R
1 min 20 sec cut off for SO2 for damaged cars (not just laps you have spun etc) but becuase of damage..

Can I suggest using the horn as an audiable warning to other drivers if you're in their blind spot attempting to overtake?
Some people may take that as an agressive action and ignore it. Plus you should only attempt the pass if you can get more than half of your car past the person in front without touching them or altering their course. This comes down to what I already said .......

We all know how to race and it only takes a quick look in the mirrors or a quick turn of the head to know where the other driver is. Only practice with other racers helps with track awareness, so, as much time as possible should be spent by all practicing on the ZWR servers with others.

This is also needed for Division 2 racers.

We ran a 30 minute qualifying session. I did 32 laps on the bounce, i think the most others did was about 5-7 laps before damage etc etc during that time, there was several stranded cars on the track or in odd positions, there fore i DO suggest as many people getting online and practicing TOGETHER.

The other thing is during the Q session, some people WAITED until traffic passed when leaving the pits others then just pulled out without warning straight into the racing line which at T1 is also the braking point
I am having a power trip day ha ha. I just want good clean racing and all the things I have said are the rules I follow myself during races. There is nothing more annoying then coming up against a driver that has poor track awareness.

Ofcourse we all know this, but the thing is that on this track even that is barely possible.

Well, lets put it this way, we have given people plenty of advice etc etc both on these forums and on the server (practice) therefore if any drivers show lack of track awareness and show this to a dangerous level in the first races, they will be made FULLY aware to either improve their standard of driving quick smart, or risk being removed from the series.

UF1 is clean close racing there is no place here for people who either think it's bangers racing or people who don't treat others with respect

you just gotta resolve a few little things Mikey and then you will fly, this makes it much easier
