I'd like the chicane to stay but be readjusted so that it remains almost flat or flat but without the need to bounce over kerbs.
kind of Blackwood S?

probably - but straightening it up completely is just ripping off the best parts. This chicane gives overtaking oppotunity - it is not the braking zone but the last previous turn before straight that gives overtaking opportunity. And I like the section of the fast ones the most -- you screw one - you'll screw the next also (especially in this place).

The other connection that makes a KY Long+++ would be awesome, just tried that, the very long fast lefthander going into short right towards chicane - this is what I call overtaking possibility.

I hope you guys do not prefer something like this with LOOOOTS (4) of hairpins:

I wonder why people are calling it a chicane.
Duke, I think that a straight thru would be like ----\____ kind of drop (well a bit less dramatic, but very hectic) and a hairpin like in this image is a bit better amd more fun.
Kyoto GP Long is one of my favourite tracks - I think I've logged over 1000 laps there in FOX and FO8. I dislike the chicane however. You have to cut it to be competitive, whether that's on the left hand kerbs for hotlapping or over the grass on the exit if you're online. I think something like a mirror version of the T1-T2 chicane would be a good solution - a wide, pretty quick (4th gear) left right with steeper kerbs. This would be more in keeping with the rest of the track and still maintain high speed so the final braking point would still be hit at around V-Max minus 10mph.

It would also work in Reverse, which is GP Long's biggest failing.
Dev's can change stuff. But the managers aren't going to revamp Kyoto Ring National because someone on a video game forum says its wrong. lol think realistically, calling out the managers of the track and schumacker, (totally spelled wrong but whatever)

Maybe it is a bad chicane but it seems to be working in real life
Pssst! It's a fictional circuit.
Hmm, should I? Laugh? Yup i think it's about that time now.

Are you serious? "it seems to be working in real life"? "calling out the managers of the tracks and schumacher"?
Please say you're joking - or are you confusing Kyoto with Twin-Ring Motegi?

I hope the chicane does change. In fact, I'd like small changes to lots of configs for S3, just to keep the tracks alive. Look at Silverstone to see how tracks evolve over the years. That would be cool in LFS.

 :bump: :chairfall to this thread now :clapclap:

RUMBLE STRIPS
btw, seriously, why cant we have assymetric rumble strips htat would be adjustable to track configuration?
