Oh Dear... another thread started by our buddy Cr!t!calDriftzorz teh big11!1Eleven
which has resulted in a flame war/argument zone .
The fact you even thought this would bring positive reception from the majority of LFS users, or not necciceraly positive, but non flamey, is totaly beside me.
The more people hear about LFS, the closer the LFS forum (and servers) gets to being like the CounterStrike or WOW forums (and servers)......
There shouldn't be a driving test put into LFS like what has been discussed many times before, but a maturity test so that we can keep this community sensible.
But that's very hard, we (the community) cannot say who can or cannot play. The only solution I see is LFS moving to truly hardcore racing and remove every single unneeded aid or arcade feature. There are tons of racing games, but few true simulators like LFS.
But hey, I'm only a user, and this is only my opinion, it's not my task (nor privilege) to say witch path Live For Speed should take
It's just that I don't see LFS gets the respect it deserves from the sim racing community, but that's a matter for another (long) thread.
EDIT: As I said in another thread, the MRT (underused in S2 servers) would be a better demo car to replace the XRT. All those FSAE students could have a free demo to try out a car similar to what they are building, some would buy S2 and some would not. But the audience the MRT attracts would be quite different from the audience attracted by the XRT. (IMHO of course) And you already have the XRG to text a RWD tintop.
Not a bad idea if you ask me. Gives them something nimble and light, on slicks that requires driving talent, and isn't used much by licenced players (even if I do like it!)...
