The online racing simulator
You have two options.
1) Move the mirror left so that it isn't behind the map.
2) Move the map to the other side.
map on left side would cover the messages
in the FXR you can move the mirror more to the left but not like in the FZR cause there it would cover a bit of your view

so actually things I really would love to have:

1. possibility to move mirror more up
2. moving the map free over the whole screen

I can't see the problem. In FXR if you move the mirror only horizontally it will stay on the banner area, which isn't seethrough in the first place. On some cars the mirror can get in the way a bit though, but that's just life.

Scawen said when he changed it, that there isn't going to be a possibility to move the mirror any upper, because it would go thorugh the windscreen. See the illustration I drew. (mirror is the red thing on the highest position).

Thats a pretty low mirror. Havn't seen a car with a mirror that low.

This is the suggestion thread and I have a suggestion to make things better and more fun to race. So an answer "thats just life" is pretty stupid...

All the mirrors are on a realistic height in LFS. It may look a bit weird, but it's because the perspective. But if you really compare them they are about the same height as real life cars have them. If you think they are not, you need to present Scawen with proof and then he will change them.

Add "real" in there then, maybe that will make it less stupid. Sure it would be fun to move the mirrors all the way up, out of the way, but that wouldn't be realistic.
Does this look realistic? No......but you can do it.......

Anyway, I give up on that and I think an option for a free movement of the map would be much better.
Maybe a mod can change the title

You can do that because some users like to use a low fov or otherwise limited view, so that the mirror wouldn't be visible at all. I said that earlier already.

strong yes

Thus my agreement that we should have negative value to move the mirror up so that it's not directly in my sight line with a low FOV. Talk about realism all you want, realism is an opinion. The default view is definitely far from realism. I don't sit in the back seat.
+1 To both for me..

If one chooses to use the map, it would be helpful if it were movable as to not block the chat text/mirror/whatever.

As far as mirror placement/realism is concerned, this is a pc simulation that many different people have many different rigs and preferences. Don't get me wrong, I drive in the "in car" view, but this isn't a real car with real mirrors. Making the mirrors customizeable even out of "realistic" bounds may be just what is needed for ones personal configuration to work best for them.
The mirror is on a realistic position. You can move if you can't see it. But you can't move it out of the way. It's just another part of the dash. If you think that it gets in the way, you can always drive from the outside view.
yeah right, thats then realistic

I don't think you can move the mirror realistically high in some cars.

It would only stick through the windshield (something which can also be done in some cars) if the Y-axis (distance from driver) did not follow the angle of the windshield.

Most mirrors touch something which touches the roof liner:
