I've finally had someone put some elbow grease on and make an attempt at the test; although sans sprs again for some reason. The fellow managed 14 (15 if I was feeling nice) out of 29.

I've clarified (again) and bolded some of the questions in the first post...

I'm not sure if I should even go for the test

I decided i'd give the quiz a go even though i'm not a demo racer. Quickly searched first 3 questions in LFSManual and decided I couldn't do it

Hmm, I didn't think that the test was THAT difficult....

The funny thing is, in the few submissions I've had (uh... 2 or 3), if I was to combine all the right answers, it would be a 100% test - so the answers can't be that hard to find!

Maybe I'll just make it into a hotlap competition for 4 days - fastest lap wins or something hm...

yes, i think thats gonna solve the huge problem of giving a license, demo want to give them the s2 so easy, that to do that test its very difficult..

There is no problem. If someone really wants an S2 licence for free they will find all the right answers. As for the 3 consecutive quick laptimes I think you could probably go easy there as long as the driver shows he has some idea on how to drive a race car properly (atleast showing consistancy)... but answering all those answers is possible for anyone with a net connection to do.

Personally I'm a lazy bastard who would much rather just fork out the dosh

:arge: What am I doing wrong? I just did about 30 laps in the hotlapping Blackwood Reversed, never went off of the track, never hit an object, and I never even "spun out" once, though I normally don't. The problem is that though I feel like I am racing about the best that I can, I'm only getting about 1:32 average. And I can only get about 1:28 average on the Blackwood normal track. I use the mouse for steering and the "W" key for gas, "S" key for brake. So a split mouse/keyboard combo. I'm wondering if a wheel would help?
Because I don't know how else to improve my times. From the first hot lap to the last, they were all about the same times without improvement!
Ahh, it's frustrating! Guess no S2 license for me! Though, I did beat the "Overtaking" lesson with great ease!

If you want to get the most out of this game buy a wheel if you can afford it ...but if you can I suppose you could afford the licence too

It's easier trying to persuade my parents to buy it for me.

However this is a good excuse for me to practice.

If any demo users want their laps do be done under the time of 1.26 - Simply send me £24 (however you choose) And I'll be happy to complete the lap for you

Haha Yes, very true. I sure can't afford both right now, I know that! But it's something I'll work towards. Maybe a DFP wheel would be a good start?
But I'm sure I can improve my times even a little. I know that there has to be people out there using a mouse and getting in the 1:28 range at least! I'll just keep working at it. Can't hurt!

BBT - I just wanna say, I don't think you should make this easier . It will be great if this still hasn't been won in a month's time, they should have to do some work to get their license!

If you have to make it easier, lower the times by a second and get rid of a couple of questions.

Oh come on, that time should be quite possible with a bit of effort. I almost never race BL, let alone BL Rev, but I already managed a 1:26.68 after ~12 laps of hardly trying. If you're only demo licensed then I imagine you race that combo over and over, so achieving that time should be merely a matter of form.

Wow, AchimPL submitted a GREAT result.

25 out of 29 correct (One wrong from a marshall being in a tricky spot, One wrong from misunderstanding the question (english I think) about the XRT's tire size (gave me the nondriven wheel), One wrong because it's a dreadfully trick question, and Bob's deadly banned user question wrong.

A nice hotlap of 26:60 on lap 2, and very consistent driving!

I can tell he put a lot of effort into this, and is very very close.

I would say that if noone beats this in ... 24 hrs, I will award him the license. It's very clear from his answers, esp the technical ones and his driving that he would be a prime candidate for this. Plus he answered questions A and B before the test, the first person to do so
