Poll : Which would you prefer to have?

LXR
159
LX8
64
This can't be put into a poll, I didn't vote either.

The LX4 is more popular than the LX6 simply because it handles better. A v8 version would be painfully slow through the corners but mega fast n straights, and overall too twitchy. The obvious solution is what I posted above... a racing version called LXR (nothing to do with previous renders), which is either 4 or 6 cylinder, but lighter and with racing fittings as in the picture above. No pointless headlights either lol. I love the LX cars, but we really need something that can go fast AND grip through corners at speed. More grunt won't help (v8) and wings will just look bad, not represent anything in the real world, and make it too similar to the single seaters.
Quote from Tweaker :Stupid. Why can't you just say "can we please have an LX that is race-prepped? Rather than being so specific with your erector set render machine?

Because I'm not making any requests.

A much more sane summary

Though the Donkervoort had wings, that was only specially made for the record attempt at the Ring. And only a small handful of similar spec Donkervoorts were made for the road after the record had been broken... and it had no wings. There are no real LX-type cars that have huge wings and race in a series as far as I know, so it only seems right to have a car that keeps the image of what the LX is all about.

I think more people voted for the LXR or the LX8 just because they want something beefier or basically an LX with slicks. That is the general idea. Those that wish it to have wings and compete with the GTRs... there are better options for a new GTR than that.
I actually wish the LX6 was simply changed to have slicks, rollcage, and no headlamps and a bit less weight. Then the LX8 could be something similar to a donkervoort. That would make the most sense to me anyway. LX4 = road version, LX6 = race version, LX8 = GTR version w/body kit (no wings!!!!!).
Adding wings to the LX woudl destroy its charm and style in my opinion. Nor do I feel we need a v8 powered LX unless is got a 2.6L Radical V8. I would much rather see a race prepped version of the LX6 with slicks and a full rollcage in the same class as a race prepped RAC and other roadsters, none with downforce. Some where between the XFR/UFR and the GTRs.

Quote from XCNuse :Plus why would I want to show off that old render anyways?

Because it's freakin' awesome! I voted LX8 because I like driving road cars, but after seeing that render, I want an LXR. As well.
Quote from Burnzoire :Then the LX8 could be something similar to a donkervoort.

youd have to be blind to want to race such a car

I want that red LXR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quote from Shotglass :youd have to be blind to want to race such a car

funny, i thought the same about that lx with wings :P

The reason I posted the kitted up donkevoort is because it would provide us with another style of racecar similar to something like the Radical SR8 (see attached). Using the existing chassis of the LX, add enclosures (full body aero) over the wheels like the 2nd pic, we'd have something exciting to race with. A rear wing wouldn't be out of the question either.

Should have both really, and IMO there is NO reason why we shouldn't already have both.

Why?, because they would both be subtle modifications on a already existing model, I bet the actual modelling time of both of those cars, LXR and LX8 would be negligable, heck, we already HAVE an LX8 model.

Also, because of the way the LFS engine works, "making" the physics would also be a little amount of time, surely it's just a matter of "pumping in the numbers".

So the question shouldn't be which of these cars would we like, the question would be WHY don't we already have them.

Infact, the more I think about the fact that the LX8 is out there on Scawens HDD in some state of completeness, it actually bugs me a fair bit that we don't already have it.........
Do you really think LFS was just a matter of "throwing everything they have" into it? I'm sure the LX8 wasn't included for very good reasons. I mean, look at the lx4 & lx6 on the lfsw charts - the LEAST used cars! Throw another very similar car into the game and the lx4 & lx6 will get used EVEN LESS as they share the least popular mantle with their new cousin the lx8. Scawen & co know what they're doing regarding design choices with LFS, they think long and hard about the impact to the whole sim, the bigger picture.
So it wasn't included because people MIGHT not use it?, oh come on man, get real...........

As for "throwing everything into it", well, THEY (the dev team) CLEARLY thought the LX8 was going to go into LFS, simply because they made it, if I remember correctly, the "only" reason it was left out was because the tyre physics at that time made it next to impossible to drive, now we have better tyre physics, that reason is no longer valid.

IMO, there is no VALID reason that the LX8 shouldn't be added now, or very soon in the future, more cars are good, regardless of how many people drive them.
i prefer LXR, becose some cars in lfs have the version turbo and GTR,

and 3 LX only turbo i don¡t think so... it's better 2 turbo and 1 gtr of LX

LXR / LX8 / LXGTR neither or non of them.

Just give us the Slick Tyre option on the excisting LX's. They are powerful enough, they handle.....ok ( if you can drive them ) and with slicks, give's them a competative edge.

So I didn't vote, as the option to add Slicks wasn't available

Thats my 2 cents

I doubt the tyre physics would make that much difference that something "undriveable" suddenly becomes driveable and I suspect the extra weight of the v8 ruined the handling, but this is all speculation on both our parts.

As has been mentioned by numerous people, forget the LX8, forget some GTR version shoehorned into an unsuitable class and that goes against the whole philosophy of the car and please just give us the equivalent of a race prepped clubman. Pretty please

Remember how bad the FV8 was when S2 was first released?
All those restarts at oval servers.. 5 restarts keeps the newbies away.

Okay so the LX8 at its time had 345bhp, weighs about 100 or so lbs more. The FV8 has about 100bhp more, and has 70 more ft lbs of torque.

So really, the LX8 was a mid-range fill in car between the FOX and the FV8.
Yes it has slicks, but have you driven the FV8 without downforce? Not to much fun if I recall, so the reason of taking it out due to uncontrollability is quite frankly plausible. May not be the reason, but it would still be hard even with slicks. Tires probably spun, you could rip up the straights, but you'd have to slow down bunches for the turns.
I guess the turns separate the boys from the men though.
Formula V8 = FO8, not FV8 you nob :P
I still like calling it the FV8.
I think I'm the only one too, but I dont care, I prefer FV8 more.
Quote from XCNuse : Yes it has slicks, but have you driven the FV8 without downforce?

0° of downforce does not mean "no" downforce
Well its rather simple why the lx4 and lx6 are the least used cars. beacuse most people race GTR cars and the STCC cars and both of them are not used in STCC if you go on city driving servers its one of the most used cars on the server if not the most.

the CTRA (the new STCC) have an LRF+LX4 server, but it's NEVER used
Quote from Flotch :0° of downforce does not mean "no" downforce

I know, I'm just pointing out how much of a difference having little downforce compares to having.. high which is what is normal.
Quote from Jakg :the CTRA (the new STCC) have an LRF+LX4 server, but it's NEVER used

Well if it's run like the old STCC where you needed gazillion points to drive the only fun car, the Lx6, I'm not surprised. Plus, it's too evil for the most people who need 400 laps per combo to get a decent lap within 103-105% of WR.
LXR Please!
