Hi!
I made this little video this morning I know my last one was not very good and this ain't a masterpiece either but there is defenitly progress I only used the standard "race cam" and i know many of you don't like that but it worked out pretty ok I used a digital camera to record it with isn't the best idea but don't mind that

I hope you'll like it and let me know what you think.

(due to some compression the framerate droped a bit, can't help it but if i didn't compress it, it would have ended up a 700+ MB video (+youtube also encodes it witch doesn't help either)
The first question you have to ask yourself when making a movie: "Why would people want to see it?"

And the answer with this one is:
that's the awnser to most video's.. it's just to see a bit lfs racing.. nothing more..

True, but the main difference in the videos is how it's made. And that's what matters to me. I don't like this video mainly because you used the standard camera, no custom cameras. But also because it's only one car driving around BLGP. There's nothing interesting in this video at all, it's like watching a regular replay. It would've been more interesting if you used custom cameras, perhaps some special effect(s), more cars that actually race with each other, showing off some good battles etc etc etc.

Instead of using a digital camera to record a movie, use a program like Fraps or any similar program that records what's going on, on your screen and then edit the clips in some movie editing program like Vegas or the one that WinXP has built in. Windows movie maker or whatever it's called. And btw, you spelled "edited" wrong, I think. :]

The question "Why would people want to see it?" can be asked in this case also, the answer however would be: No reason.

I'm not a pro in making movies, I only made one or two myself and those were never published due to me thinking they were too bad to show others. However, I do know what I want to see in LFS racing movies, and that's what I'm writing about here.
I run LFS on an iMac.. and didn't get fraps to run so that's why i didn't use it. I used iMovie HD to edit it witch i'm not very known with yet You gotta remeber that i'm not a pro either.......

ohwell.. i gave it a shot at least :Kick_Can_

Hey sponge.

Don't be too disheartened

Trouble is, we've all been real spoilt with lots of top quality movies for LFS.

It's practially an art form in itself.

For example, if you take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihSWy9SzdbQ

That's is the kind of thing people have gotten used to seeing. :wow:

But we all gotta start somewhere, right?

So keep working on it. Have fun and enjoy the journey :camera:.
Thanks for your supporting words

Yeah that movie is awesome! I enjoy making movies so i'll keep at it anyway but probably won't post it untill i'm sure it's nearing the quality that's standard here
You can go two ways actually. You either make a high quality recording of cars driving by which is nice to look at and usually boring. Or you can compensate for poor quality with a good idea for a movie. For example pick a song and then try to match what is going on in the game with the lyrics.

Having both is of course the best way, but if you can't have quality then you must go with originality.
Hm.. you've got a good point there kurent To be really honest i liked the "intro" of my vid. best becouse it kinda matches the music the stuff after that was kinda just there to fill some time. My mind is buzzing again with some ideas..

i'll be back
