I have posted this in RSC forum without reply as yet, so I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out please? I know this is probably not the right place to post this but you guys seem very knowledgeable about...well most things

I am unable to assign keys in GTR2. When I click with the left mouse button to enable a key assignment it does not then give me the option to assign the respective key as it should. It just assigns to the left mouse button immediately?

I had this problem previously, a re-install fixed it.

Silly me uninstalled the game to make space on my HDD as I wasn't playing it (too busy with LFS).

I now want to try GTR2 again and have now re-installed five times to try and solve the key assignment problem, without success, same outcome each time.

I would much appreciate if someone could help me with this as it is now starting to make me insane. Has anyone else had this problem? My mouse is fine.

I know of some mouses/mouse drivers, where you can enable a double-click mode (you click once but it registers like you'd have double-clicked)... You don't have something like that enabled by any chance?

That is what seems is happening but I don't have my mouse set up for that. The strange thing is the last time it happened re-installing the game fixed it, which would lead me to believe it is the game and not the mouse?? This time re-installation does not seem to fix it . Also I am using a laptop, the same issue arises even using the in-built laptop mouse.
