Yeah, it just turned out like that. I'm sure there is a reason for it, but I haven't investigated. From mucking around, I found the distortion sounds great in some cars and not so good in others e.g. F08.

I've had this onboard cam video uploaded to youtube for a long while now. It's Richard Burns Rally at the Mineshaft stage.
I saw the mineshaft for myself a couple of years ago at the Canberra rally. It's probably the scariest piece of road I've ever seen in motorsport. It's so much friggin steeper than it looks on film.

Videos saved with the following settings convert the best:
- MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
- 320x240 resolution
- MP3 audio
- 30 frames per second framerate
Very nice, I like the sound. But you really have to turn the camera movement off.

both with only onboard and the ones with the occasional 'outboard' shots are nice
Maybe it's not the place to ask but i couldn't find the awnser in other threads, and since this one is about onboard vids i can try here anyway, i was wondering how you get the cam to be like in the middle of the car? (i like to know this so i can make an onboard vid sometime).

You go to Options/view and than set your view to "custom" and than you can move those sliders up, down, left, right... You can't do this while watching a replay though, you have to set the view first than go to replay and find it via the "V" button...

I found out though that you can change the level of distortion by going into your sound options>properties then click recording and mess around with some of the sliders.
