Found this while playing Silent Hunter 3: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html (The Generic Mod Enabler). You can use this nifty tool to:
1. Enable mods, at the same time this mod will backup current files
2. Disable mods with one click
I also think you can organizy patches with this .
And a note again this is made by JoneSoft.

I use this program for Silent Hunter III also. It works great and the mod community here should REALLY make their mods so that they work using this utility. It makes things so much simpler when you've got multiple different mods to manage.
