Setting up a Pro Server
Hello, I wonder if anyone can help? I have 3 servers but would like one of them to be a pro server. What I would like to do is not allow anyone below a certain time to be admitted to server. For example, say I set a server for asclub/fox, is there any way I can limit people allowed to join whose pb is < 1.02.00?
I have lapper running so could I use that to do it or is their another way that would work?

Probably a custom InSim add on - as users connect you get their licence name, and you could query LFSW using pubstats to get their PB for the combo you're racing on.

What happens if the driver who connects hasn't done any laps on that particular combo but is competent enough to do a time under the limit within a couple of laps if they get a chance? It might be an idea to qualify the query with some kind of minimum laps requirement. If the user has done less than a certain number of laps on the combo set a timer to check again their laptime in a pre-determined period (e.g. in 10 times the time of the WR from now) to give them enough time to put in representative laps and fiddle with setups or whatever.
The comment "it's their server and they can do what they like" springs to mind... this wasn't a discussion on the merits of using that as a qualifier
Failure is the main admin for Fragmaster.
I have posted on their forum and am waiting for their reply. They indeed have the exact kind of system I am looking for, called the 'Oval Noob Filter'. Here's hoping, will keep you informed, thanks for info guys
