Whem me and my mate went into the carpark for a quick mess about, i could see him perfectly but he couldn't see me!!! and i turned off my firewall so that isnt the problem!

In most cases, internet upload speed is less than download speed. So your position uploading to you friend might have been lagging alot when his position was downloading to your computer at a reasonable rate. What is your internet speed?

How did you know he couldn't see you. Were you using the LFS in game chat or something like MSN or Teamspeak. Disable all other internet programs when using LFS to decrease your latency which might solve your problem.

Perhapse your ISP was having a bad day and your upload bandwidth was slower than normal. Does this problem always occur for you? Perhapse your ISP uses packet shaping to curb Peer-Peer sharing like limewire/emule type programs. You might want to mention your ISP plan limits and the ISP you are with. Someone else here might know whats wrong straight away based on that info.

the internet speed it pretty quick, as i have satalite broadband! when i look at the settings it says it is going at 10mbs but i dont believe that.

we were talking using the LFS gamer chat! and it seems to happen all the time not just on that day. i also do have limewire but i dosconnect it when i go on LFS.

that could be (most likely) a general problem with satellite inet you will have a bad ping because of the distance your data travel
if you google a bit for satellite internet and gaming you will find alot of threads with people getting similar problems

high ping = lag = no good for lfs ^^
