Patch "X" is rumored to open Friday, the auto update feature will update you with many new features. The OLFSL accepts and welcomes this new patch, we would however ask that you test all the "NEW" features and be prepared for what could happen.
With the "NEW" false start feature, jumping the green light is taken care of by the LFS program......ie: a time penalty, OLFSL rules still apply for taking care to be able to control your car and your reaction time should be quick to insure the racer behind you doesn't run into your bumper.
We all wish ( us at staff especially) that this will be a smooth transistion, however there will always be one or two members who get caught by surprize with a new patch. We ask for some patient in Stats and points, these are no longer available automatically (however the staff is hard at work, i'm sure we'll be the first league to bring stats back...yeah OLFSL coders).
The handicap system has NOT been investigated enough, and lord knows nobody likes to change things in mid-stream ( as some of you have pointed out) BUT, this time we don't have a choice.......it's LFS not us, we only chose a car where that feature has no bearing for this race.
Car resetting is finally an issue we hosts no longer have to sit through hours of replays... (YEAH).
So feel free to upload patch "X" when it arrives (Friday) and know that our race servers will be up to snuff.
As said on the Chat board ( FienDi will confrim this) Hotlapping for this event will be done in Patch "V" to "W" even though we will run patch "X" for the race ( unless it's not released).
We will change the OLFSL to Patch "X" after hotlapping closes ( as Ray Mooney expressed, get some practice ...your set may change)
After much change and tinkering OLFSL TV is slated to run like tickety Boo from now on, enjoy, hope this info was useful.
