Quote from ajp71 :Under FIA rules there is only one type of blue flag.

I think that the blue book mentions something about waved and held blue flags. But I don't have a copy of the blue book on me, so I can't be certain. I'll ask someone who does

Like I said in another thread, FIA rules are freely downloadable at the FIA website and the part concerning blue flags is simple :

Quote :
d) Light Blue flag:
This should normally be waved, as an indication to a driver that
he is about to be overtaken. It has different meanings during
practice and the race.
At all times :
- A stationary flag should be displayed to a driver leaving the pits
if traffic is approaching on the track.
During practice :
- Give way to a faster car which is about to overtake you.
During the race :
- The flag should normally be shown to a car about to be
lapped and, when shown, the driver concerned must allow the
following car to pass at the earliest opportunity.

I find the safest solution is keep the racing line until a proper turn comes and then take the outside line.

But then, there are some impatient people that tries to pass you in places like the FE1 chicane, and usually the story ends in the wall. And in my books, that's pretty close to wrecking.

Muaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaaa I got to say it again! Muaaahahaha etc ...

Do I really want to go on LFS to see "BLUE FLAG BLUE FLAG@!@!@221!11!1" all the time? Meh, I'd rather be on demo and hear "PIT DRIFT" every once in a while

Oh and to shine some light-

ive been blue flaged more than a few times, i do either one of the following
-let of the gas slowing down just enough for the to safely pass me on the straights

or take the outside line of a turn allowing the person behind to pass me on the inside.

im not the perfect racer and i dont pretend to be, but i always do my best to race fair and clean. im not saying that you should all do the same as me when being blue flagged, just stating my own traits
It seems to me that people spam 'blue flag' a lot less than they used to. About a year ago I saw the binds getting used *a lot*, all the time, and for some reason it seems to have died down a fair amount.

Yeah, I agree Andy, I haven't seen it used often in a long while either. I hope it doesn't make a comeback while I'm at BUDs though, it'd be disappointing to come back to something like that.
did you think, maybe you're getting faster?
The blue flag, in Lfs, is out allready when a car comes near you. If you notice ordinary IRL motorsports, they first give you the blue flag, when it it obvious, that the weak party (the car which is just to be overtaken) not are allowing the faster racer to get by him

The Lfs flagrules is far from perfect, but most of the danish Lfs society, takes it as a first warning. "prepare to get overtaken by the faster racer" it means, in our race book

We say to people, that they shall not make room in "dangerous places", such as chikanes or tigth curves. When its safe to let the upcoming racer pass you - That is the time and place

I would instantly ban a "blue flag - Let me pass" guy from my server. Its not good behaviour.

Hehe, in my case they were spamming other people. Honest.
