FileFront: Replacement for YouTube/MegaUpload etc.
I just thought to make a special thread to suggest that nowadays the best choice for uploading your videos would be FileFront.

Why?

Two things: FF now has a streaming feature + the option to download the original version of the video, all on the same page. Very handy... also, the quality of the streaming video is better than on YouTube. So, it's a win + win situation, really.

One example: http://files.filefront.com/lfs ... /;7212225;;/fileinfo.html

Opinions?
Nice.. didn't know that.

I never like to see the vids in YouTube anyways - thanks for the heads up

http://boost.am/ or this

250mb limit can also stream/let other people dl your vids
Stage6 is also very good, but it has one major drawback. It only accepts DivX (or XviD) encoded videos.
Nice suggestion. Since I need to be 13 to post on youtube, i can post there.

Youtube works fine for smaller bandwidth connections, such as mine. Of course, the more bandwidth you have, the better the quality can be, but I'd still prefer a low-res version anywhere, that doesn't needs hours of buffering.

PS: Dalek, why did you steal SlamDunk's avatar?
Needed a new one. Any way, I'm about to put up a new new avatar.

What do you mean? The quality is always the same, it's just takes longer or shorter time to download.

That Stage 6 is probably great for big connections but I don't understand why anyone would want to watch a stream video in decent quality that takes "forever" to load when nearly at the same time they could download .avi in best quality.

Filefront seem to quite fast. In youtube it might sometimes take 1 day to get it processed. That's very rare though... maybe some "glitch" in the uploading system. Filefront apparently doesn't automatically make letterboxes, so the aspect radio is wrong if you don't do it yourself.

I like youtube, it's jus so convenient. I have mostly uploaded there non-gaming videos but I think the quality is just enough for gameplay vids - for "artistic" game vids it's usually not. I will never upload my vid project (if I ever finish it ) to youtube, not anywhere else either. Only .avi.

Resizing to a lower resolution is a loss of quality IMO.
I don't know about filefront, but comparing youtube with google video, google video uses (or used to use, dunno how it is now) a slightly higher resolution than youtube, which meant a better quality (at least in my terms of understanding quality), but therefore longer download times.
(Don't think, my definition of quality is only resolution though)
