Firstly, yes, there will be an event 2, the format for the event will change slightly, as the original format was a tad ambious.

The whole event will be raced and won on one evening, but the qualification will be reduced, and the race length of one or more races will be reduced, also, server issues will be ironed out, and a new server put in place for the event.

When?, I guess this is the big question, all I can say is sometime after June, I am very busy untill June and have a trip to the Nurburgring to get out of the way .
