Are you affected by colours?
Sometimes I find that I drive better when using a skin with a particular colour. For instance, my Injext FOX I seem to have a nice time driving, but when I hop into a yellow FOX, I have more of a tendancy to slide or spin, historically. I've also found that more graphic intensive skins are ones I perform better with on the track.

Now, a lot of people would probably dismiss this as pure coincidence, but I'm sure there's a subconcious explanation for this. Has anyone else noticed similar behaviour with themselves, or others? What colour do you prefer to have on your car while you're driving? I usually drive in a custom view where I can see the hood/nose of my car, and thus I can always see the colour of my car while driving. Do you think visually being able to see it versus just knowing what colour your car is provides different results?

I hope to spark an interesting discussion with this... Or maybe I've just had one too many beers tonight
i usually drive with my pink rims and black car....just dont know why but i have better results with that combination... also an orange fox, or a pink car (GTI mostly)
pink rims = fast for me, look at my STCC round 2. :P
Pink, Orange and Red (the colour of my Injext FOX) are all warm colours. Do you think there could be some correlation there?

Maybe not since I can't drive my Yellow and black FOX, but I haven't driven with that skin a lot so it may not be a prime candidate for discussion.
i recently made myself two orange skins one for the FZ5 one for the LX6 and i must admit, my times have got slightly better

who knows...
I drive better when I like the skin I am using, my car must look good otherwise my driving seems to be crap It works in real life to, when was the last time you saw an ugly car win a championship?

No, I just now think you are much more stranger than I thought before
pink and orange skins and rims rock:headbang:
Red is fast, FF-red is faster... or extremely slow.
I personally use plain BRG on all cars and I'm still a chicane on wheels
I think it's a confidence thing: Look the part; feel the part.

I suspect it's not so much about colours, but designb. How you perceive others to be seeing you - your own vanity steps in and gives you that extra glint [or 0.1 seconds] when you are feeling confident of how others are seeing you.
I think Becky's probably right, but I also experience a similar effect offline as well. Just goes to show that the recipe for success is maybe a little more complicated and interesting than simply having the right setup.
Haha.. my cars have pink wheels too.

It takes a REAL man to pull off pink car parts well.

You ain't seen nothin yet!
If you think it makes a difference then it makes a difference
Aha, that is a very very good point. It's kind of like superstitions; wear the wrong socks to the track and you'll catch yourself worrying about not wearing your lucky socks.

I just did some online racing... First race was absolutely terrible. I got a drive-thru for a false start, when I went to serve it I hit my TC button instead of my rev limiter by accident, resulting in a second drive-thru for speeding in pit lane. I managed to salvage a 4th place out of that race, though. The next race went better, came second. Third race was a victory, but most of the field dropped out so I only passed one car the whole race and wasn't challenged at all for the lead.

The next race was GREAT; started on pole and hate an awesome battle with one guy, then by lap 4 it was three of us. I managed to keep both drivers (who were obviously faster) behind me until about lap 6 when I got passed for good by one of them. At that point, the third place driver timed out, and the race auto-restarted

Then I left the server because there was only two of us. :P

Oh yes, my point was I was using my Injext FOX skin the whole time. That may contradict everything about colours changing performance, possibly, as my performance was all over the place. Freak occurance? Maybe.
It's the human nature. When you drive considerably good or bad it is natural to associate things that are happening at the current moment to have an effect on it. Later when you are notice that the same things are going on you will tend to think that they have a certain effect and by thinking that it effects your driving. So in reality there are no lucky items/colors, it's all in your head.
Also, if I drive F1 skins on the BF1, my performance is equal to the skin, super aguri skins and I take people out, spin and stuff.
Keep using that Super Aguri skin and you'll beat the reigning champion!
I go fastest on a fairly plain home made skin in the race cars, and plain cars are great for the road cars in fairly subtle colours (although I do like an orange LX6, but definitely not an orange LX4) and the lime green RAC is a bit of an exception to the rule.

If I race with skins I don't like I think it does make a bit of a difference
there was a skin that said: pink, not gay allways made me happy, and made other people hit me
I recently resprayed my car in green and my driving has never been better!

Also in real life when I'm driving my parents' green car, my driving is better than either the red or blue ones
Quote from kiss me :there was a skin that said: pink, not gay allways made me happy, and made other people hit me

There is a team called "Pink not gay", if I recall correctly.
I drive better with a personalised skin and black rims for some reason. Also, all the other colour rims look crap If I don't have a decent skin for the car and I just drive a plain one my driving is as insignificant as the skin.
I'm better driving with my own skins. I just made myself my first skin for the UFR (based on Pixars "The Incredibles") and I was faster than ever
