Quote from AndroidXP :The only people getting flamed here are the ones who did post something genuinely stupid and/or can't be bothered to spell correctly or at least use a spell checker plugin of some sort. Especially if they're from a country with English as its first language.

Seriously, compared to many other gaming forums this one is like heaven, though the aforementioned group of people do drag it down lately. However, wishing this forum to be more like RSC is insane. The mix of slowness, the way of moderating and some of the contained communities plus the ignorance found in them make me outright loathe it. :irked:
Then again, I'm only really looking at a very small selection of sub-forums over there, so it might not be as bad on average.

Dont forget the people that mention/ start threads that contains something like oval or drifting. Its almost certain and you will be:

- punished by the :bananadea brigade &/ or
- be confronted with ignorant and ridicules "opinions".

So instead of following the motto: "live and let live" its more like "only racing on curcuit tracks is real racing, everything else is nonesense and should be banned permanently." One thing i have learned in this forum is: true intelligence reveals in a discussion about the matter of taste.

Feel free to use the Search function and correct me if im wrong.
True, a lot of the flaming people cop around here isn't justified (or could at least be turned down from flaming bananas to constructive criticism). Then again, the focus of this game at this moment is, undeniably, circuit racing (evidenced by the ratio of ovals to road/rallyX circuits and the obvious exclusion of anything blingy, or anything that's unmistakably drift-y). LFS, like RL racing, attracts passionate fans and some of them can get a bit shat when they see the same request for the billionth time in a month (because some people simply don't think to use that very handy search function mentioned by 510n3d). LFS also attracts other car fans, lots of whom like to drift (a big advertisment LFS' killer physics) so it's understandable that some of them might want drift-y stuff. Some people are always going to think that kind of stuff is stupid. But, again, the guys starting those threads might want to do a search because, chances are, what they thought of after playing the demo for a week might already have been covered by someone else. However, yet again, there are some people who, if they get offended by such things, probably should learn to leave some threads alone. Rest assured, Content Police, the OP will get told by someone if what they speak of is old news, won't happen or is on the list, even if the response doesn't involve the worb "n00b" or a flaming banana smiley FTR I certainly don't claim to be innocent, but lately I just avoid threads that look like re-runs...

However, a demo racer with a join date of last month starting a thread asking for more content isn't going to get much sympathy from me. Neither do the starters of most of these infernal "buy me a license lolZ" threads.

Also, I don't get this anti-RSC vibe to be honest. But then, I really only hang around the Grand Prix Legends area which is really quite civil. Less a web forum and more like a bunch of old-school petrolheads having a chat in the pub about the good ol' days when racing was cheap, fun and very deadly Sometimes the RSC nKP forum erupts into arguments but I think that's more to do with the (justified) frustration all nKP fans feel with the game's developers than with the general calibre of forum members.

is really just another form of natural stupidity.

But back on topic to the OP ......... what was this all about

There is a laugh and joke around on this forum, at times I have nearly ended up spitting out my drink from laughing. There are obviously serious threads and flaming will always happen. Out of the popular forums I visit I can only think of two which can have a joke, one of which is on here.

oh rly, would you be so kind and go a little more into detail?

I agree on that and i wasn't about to have a go on the hole forum which is in fact very well moderated, in gerneral. As you can see on my post count which is not very high but shows clearly that i like to read the threads, serious stuff or not and give an oppinion once in a while. So i just wanted to point that out in my first reply here because everything sounded a bit to shiny for me and its one of the things that really strikes me. Its most probably one of the less things we or some of us really have to sort out in future or maybe its just wearing out and people get bored moaning about the same things over and over again Either way, i think LFS is capable for so much more than we have right now and certain people should just start realize that. So in this respect, everyone should be respected for their choices and that all i demand.

And now hit me as hard as you can.

Thank you.

Many meanings available and in my thoughts when I said it but in reference to this forum (and others)
Just an observation that even the most intelligent people can the do the most stupid things. Also that people loose inhibitions, and at times common sense it seems, when posting on a forum.
