The online racing simulator

Pretty weird and stupid feeling..
i know this sounds really stupid and WTF? but i feel this all the time.. Im just curious if anyone else gets this. When you are watching a race or at a race, and your watching a car lap, you sorta feel and know how the car is reacting.. hm abit hard to explain. example..

I watched kimi in practise slide out of control and he corrected it, and i felt as if i knew how to correct it too, but because of the feeling from LFS.

Im not saying i know how to do everything, im just saying, i get the feeling where its like i feel the wheel and know what to do, just by watching..

If ive made no sence, nevermind.. lol
I agree.. but not only in formula 1... also in wtcc or other race leagues... i have that feeling when someone is overtaking or slides too much... and this is certainly from live for speed because i don't have yet a driving license because i am too little... but i have this feeling too
Sometimes when I see flowers, I get a feeling that I sort of know what they smell like. I'm not saying i know what everything smells like, but when I see flowers, I really think I know exactly how they smell like. When I see flowers, I really feel alive. Lots of sunshine and flowers to everybody. [etals:]

Seriously, though, this thread makes no sense and you sound like a woman who needs to talk about her feelings.

Mk, thanks..
This definitely belongs in the Off-Topic section, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to talk about how you feel, male or female.
Spot the emo-kid!
this is called neuro lynguistic programming, meaning your brain learns from simulators in the very same was as you do it in real life, and getting the same feeling watching is definatly a good thing because your brain is copying it!
When i started playing good ol' Tetris again. The one for the Super Nintendo. When I really started playing it a lot, I could sit down and start watching T.V. and all I needed to see was one shape, and then I would start day dreaming of Tetris. Imagining blocks and thinking about where they would go. That is when I decided I should stop. It was interfering with school work.
Anyway, my point is that if you focus on something, ANYTHING long enough and concentrate hard enough, you some learn the skill or ability to some extent.
Anyone get that with tetris? but I also feel that way with watching the F! races.
BTW, what's the difference between F1 and Indy?

if you've ever driven a vehicle with a steering wheel and pedals, you most likely know what the guy is doing in the video. also since you play lfs and probably have spun out more than once, you know how to correct and what the guy is doing inside his car. you know how the wheel feels in a spin and when they spin on tv, you are just recognizing what is going on. doesn't seem that strange or hard to understand to me..

I want to feel females.
But if you were actually in that position, I'm not sure how well you'd do (edit: hahaa, this sounds really funny as a reply to Kev's post!). I thought the same thing about old bodyboarding videos, watching guys out at Pipeline or somewhere really heavy. When they do it, it looks easy, so you think you can do it too. But if you were actually offered the same scenario, things would be a lot harder than they look.

i never said you would be able to do what they do, i said you know what they are doing... if the guy starts sliding in a left hand turn you know he is counter steering, letting off the throttle, (unless this is a drift show ). its like airline pilots. if you've played flight simulator you know what the pilot is doing while rolling down the runway, easing up throttle, keeping the plane straight, pulling back on the stick etc etc. Doesn't mean that if i put you in a 747 you would be able to fly it

My guts hurt from laughing!
Ahh.

LMAO im not emo or female!!!!

But i guess some of you understand, and yeh, would work with tetris and other sports too.. just thought id tell people bout this nd im labeld as a female emo rofl!
edited due to off-topicness.

I'd guess you are quite bummed out about that after Kev's post...

Quote :Doesn't mean that if i put you in a 747 you would be able to fly it

What a bunch of BS. I can fly a 747, yup, I sure can, yessiree, just give me a chance.....

Actually, I'm fairly confident after talking to others who are pilots or have flown with friends, that I could probably fly a Cessna with an instructor or other experienced pilot friend next to me. Unless Kev is in the back seat trying to "feel me" thinking I was something that I'm not...
I once boarded a plane whose co-pilot had got food poisoning. Unfortunately they decided he wasn't fit and delayed the flight until he was replaced. I was > < that close to having that mythical announcement from the cockpit: "The co-pilot ate the fish and he's died, does anybody on board know how to fly the plane?". I would've been in that cockpit before you could say conveniently indestructible black box flight data recorder.
sure i can relate to what your saying...

but i can guarentee if you were actually driving it would be a shitload different.

when you get your license in rl you will see.

Nah i drive.. and i wasnt really saying iwould be able to do it, cause i see it..

put me in a fighter plane.. id make more problems then a terrorist..
I think it's a normal reaction to watch car behaviour and think about or predict how the driver is going to control it. I even find myself tilting my head when watching onboard laps sometimes, as I do when I'm racing. What's really silly, though, is looking in the top corner of the screen for the circuit map to see where the other drivers are
Quote from ans7812 :if you've ever driven a vehicle with a steering wheel and pedals

How else would you drive? lol

Cessna's are completely completely different. My friend has his pilots license and he took me up once and with only my FS experience, i could fly, navigate, turn etc etc. There is so much more to a 747 then you would think. ALthough i'm sure it would be possible to fly it around, keep it on course etc.

Quote from wheel4hummer :How else would you drive? lol

my point was that if you have driven any car, truck, atv (yes i know they don't have pedals), go kart, golf cart, etc. you should have that feeling
Whats an emo?
