Thoughts on GTR2
I'm thinking about checking out GTR2, just for a change of pace from LFS, and was wondering what you guys thought of it.

How good is the physics engine in terms of being realistic? How well does the weather system work? Are things like tire heat and suspension stress modeled?
There's a rather large GTR2 thread on here somewhere, not sure what's it's called anymore though. Basically, if you're looking for an LFS-like experience, don't. They physics feel horrible, as does the Force Feedback. The graphics aren't that amazing, but you can at least drive real cars on real tracks if you like that sort of stuff.

I dunno, I guess if you can pick it up super cheap, then give it a try, I wouldn't pay more than maybe $10 for it though.
I think that it's quite realistic, real cars and tracks also.
You can modify the setups too very deeply. If you tired of those cars, then you always can download new cars and tracks!

Maybe download GTR 2 demo, and then decide?
I'd been looking for a nice single-player experience a few months back and ended up buying GTR2. I knew it wasn't going to be quite as good as LFS, but I didn't quite prepare myself for just how huge the difference was. I really tried hard to like it but a half-hour to an hour later, it got deleted off my hard drive.

Same exact story as me..
i prefer rfactor to gtr2.. and i hardly spend any time playing that untill recently with the release of realfeel. the FIA GT mod cars don't feel too great with the realfeel plugin though...
