Every police rider also has a private "pleasure motorcycle" (for no reason anywhere near as vital as the one behind their police bike) - guaranteed. Also don't use the "they know the risks" comment as if other "lesser" riders don't. Some other riders may take more risks or ride stupidly, but I defy you to find a rider that doesn't realise he could be killed on his motorcycle. I'm sure you're far more likely to find countless car drivers that think their abs, esp, and airbags will save their lives in any collision below the national speed limit.

Also note that many motorists believe larger vehicles (SUVs, etc) are safer, which is not true as a blanket statement.
