or anything else by edimensionl that gives you impression of 3d

It really must be lost in translation or something, I dunno...

Your original question was asking for information on edimensional, they are a company, not a product.. illepall If you had asked for information on 3D glasses I wouldn't even have answered you as I don't have any...

So I take the time and trouble to answer the question you ask, then you get sarcastic like I gave you a stupid answer, well I won't make that mistake again, sorry I bothered.
rrrright.
lost in translatiion.

still im curious of 3dglasses effect, how does anybody feel that with lfs?

I'd never race in 2D! Can't fathom why anybody does! get some shutter glasses (often cheap on ebay) and the nvidia stereo3d driver and give it a try.
Ok can someone explain TrackIR to me? If you turn your head left? To look left ingame? Wont you be looking at the wall, or off the screen? Making you blind? Or something?

it gives you a LOT more motion, ie you move your head 5 degrees and it moves your head 20 degrees in game
I too am a Flight SIMMer. In a "Nutshell", I set TIR up so that my view stays on the screen. If I look to the left edge of my screen I am looking about 150 degrees to the rear, same right. Up I have set for 90 degrees and down is 45 degrees. A flight SIM profile is easy to build but takes a LONG time to refine. Racing profiles are much easier.

TIR for LFS I have removed the up and down. No need and it's Too much. I have slowed the motion way down from left to right. I leave "Move View With Animation" ON. It took just a bit of tweaking before I had what I feel was a good realistic match between the two. I really like it.

I use TrackIR for Combat Flight Sims. Once you spend a few hours using it you can never go back. I dont even know I am using it until I try to fly without it.

It's that good.

I specifically love it in Battle of Britain II : Wings of Victory... http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob/

For driving though? Can't do it. Oversteer and Understeer sense goes wacko for me with Tir.

TIR rocks otherwise.

I simply can't drive without it. Keep using it and it will come to you. I've been using TrackIR for three years now and in the beginning I also had problems with hitting apex while using TIR, but after a while it started to feel real good. Now I feel like I'm trapped in a cage if I don't have it enabled...

Quote from Burnzoire :You're very persistant with this argument aren't you :P

If you don't have a need for it, fine, don't use it! BUt I can assure you that there are thousands of people who NEED it. I simply won't fly without a TrackIR because quite frankly I'd get shot down every time because I'd have lost track of my enemy. I run an aussie sim community at www.vaaf.net and the vast majority of us use trackIR for without it we're disadvantaged. The only alternative to trackIR are unrealistic padlock keys (views that follow an enemy automatically) or impractical VR goggles that simply aren't on the market because it is not feasible (yet). If VR goggles were the go, don't you think a lot of people would be using them by now?

Anyway, be damned if I want a screen an inch or so away from my eyeballs for hours on end, every day of the week.

You forget the mouse! Sometime you need to let go the mouse to reach the keyboard but with enough action put on your joystick and on the mouse it does not happen so often!
I use TrackIR all the time. IMO it adds a further sense of immersion and enables you to look out beyond the corner sooner for your exit points.

I'm not sure it makes me any faster (as I'm not that quick anyway) but does add to the experience. Take for instance if someone is approaching for a pass, it's much more realistic to turn your head and look than push a button.

I had TrackIR 3 for ages and recently upgraded to TrackIR 4 Pro, which, I have to say, is outstanding. The head movement is much more natural and the 6DOF is something else.

TrackIR FTW!
How is everyone liking, or disliking the 6DOF support?
Quote from Rob76 :I voted no. I own one but don't use it in LFS. As LFS is the only 'game' I currently play regularly, the trackIR isn't currently used.

I find that with the trackIR I have less feeling for how the car is moving around. Without actually 'feeling' the car (except for the limited feedback from the wheel) I'm very reliant on visual feedback for when the car is beginning to understeer or oversteer. With the trackIR any slight head movement reduces the ability to pick up on how the car is moving.

The extra situational awareness gained with the trackIR is far outweighed by this reduction in 'feeling' which (for me) resulted in slower lap times and increased risk of not catching slides or over correcting. I also often found the trackIR more tiring and I was more likely to get a headache using it.

The trackIR software does allow for adjusting thresholds and sensitivity, so you can create a profile that only looks left and right with exagerated head movement. In the end though, I've never been bothered to find the best compromise, and just map look left/right to two wheel buttons.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly (which is handy, as I can't be bothered to type that much ) Its incredible using it to play something like Il-2 but its just doesn't quite feel right with racing games and gives me neck ache fairly quickly.

Love it. Again, as I don't use it much for racing games its not that useful for me in LFS, but in a flight sim, being able to peer around the solid parts of the cockpit frame if they're obscuring something is absolutely invaluable.
I don't have one, but I'd love the 6DOF. It'd be great to be able to look around the huge A-pillars in the FXR, since they always seem to be right where the apex of the corner is, making the apex hard to spot.
Quote from NaturalPoint_Support :How is everyone liking, or disliking the 6DOF support?

Love it. LFS is the only racing sim that implements TIR well, no, VERY well, whatever the DOF. If anyone has TIR and doesn't get on with it, it's because they haven't configured it properly. By properly I mean configured in a way that suits their style.
Smooth as silk. Don't fire up LFS without TrackIR running now.
Good to hear.........
Not in LFS
TrackIR is indispensable for flight sims, but I don't use it with LFS. I find that small head movements are indistinguishable from car shifts and ruin my 'feel' of what the car is doing.
