First wheel with clutch?
Hi,

First post about getting a first wheel
I'm trying to keep it close to $100 and would be happier with a clutch. These are the two wheels I came up with:

RGT Force Feedback Pro (Clutch Edition?)
Logitech Driving Force Pro

The first I like because its got the clutch and the second for the 900 degrees of rotation. Are there any other wheels I should put on my list?

Thanks for your help

Eric
From what I've heard the RGT wheel isn't that great, build-quality-wise.

If you really want a cheap third pedal, just buy the DFP and also buy some other crappy wheel. Plug them both in and LFS will let you assign controls to both.

It doesn't even matter if the second wheel is faulty, so long as the accelerator pedal works, so you should be able to find one dirt cheap.
how many games support that though?
Good question. I've been trying to get it set up in RACE for a couple of days and failed so far.

LFS supports it though.
Whoops, I'm an idiot.

RACE has a "Two Wheels" controller option, which works just fine. I just hadn't seen it.

So it works in LFS, RACE, netKar-Pro and Richard Burns Rally. Those are the only sims I own, and it works in all of them.

Edit: And it worked in the Drivers Republic beta too, as I remember.
sounds good to me. I've seen pedals sold seperately. Can't seem to find the DFP pedals though. Any thoughts on what my second set should be?
Both my wheels (DFP and Driving Force) have the pedals plugged into the wheel, and then the wheel plugs into USB, so I have to have the whole Driving Force wheel lying around in order to use its pedals.

Not a big deal - I've got it on a shelf where I can't even see it - but could be more convenient I suppose. At least I don't have to give it mains power.

I don't know of any pedals that plug straight into the PC, sorry.
Anything

Edit: yikes, I was "kev"ed.

edit2: I used to do the same thing, MOMO wheel and some... "interact V4" wheel or something, which was $8. Just hide the wheel out of sight or disect the guts out - even easier to hide.
No, that's not what he said.

He said that you can use a secondary wheel, just to use the pedals from the secondary wheel for clutch pedal.

This is relevant to my interests.

How exactky is it set up? You have two wheels, ignore one and use the other. With the pedals you stick the both wherever. Plug both wheels into the PC, and one in for Force Feedback. Then you go into LFS and map the clutch onto an axis made by the new pedals.

Something like that?

Yes, its very intuitive. Just hook up every cotroller you want to use, then load lfs and assign every thing from there. At the moment i use:
1. MSFFB Wheel
2. Generic wheel for clutch
3. MSFFB joystick for H shifter
4. Saitek X52 for all other controls like vote/Pit setup/tyres etc

Seems simple enough, and that's quite a few things! though sounds like a sweet setup

I think I'm gonna have to do this if I stumble upon a wheel for dirt cheap. Makes me wish I didn't throw my old one away when it had glitches. Oh well
Have you thought about Logitech G25 or is it out of the list because of price?
