Does antone else have this problem. I was racing the ai and they were doing set on pro then after a couple of races they just crashed all the time to the point u want to ban them.
YES. the AI are very retarded, but they can be trained(sort of...), shame though because they dont understand about tyre temp's so they go blasting into T1 with cold ones and, boom! accident!
Yeah they do atleast serve the purpose of having random cars to race against. I feel its worse if they drive perfect and if your not perfect you cant catch them. And its a nice way to practice without having to worry about getting banned for no other reason besides your new to the game!!
Amen, altho if you get in to the mentality that evry1 online is AI, jst faster, it makes you be able to stop most(some?) of the "noobs" (not the newbs,as in learners, jst plain noobs, but wif one O only) hitting, you.ok maby not- but atleast yu will be able to control it better.....im digging a hole,iv lost my self almost.lol.
Only just got the game and am convinced the A1 are superhumans with solid cars. They barely nudge me and I'm spinning like a lunatic but if I ram their backends (was by accident at first but now I'm getting peeved), they just carry on as though nothing's happened.
Whilst I'm at it, I drive a fast sports car and think I know how to take a bend without too much danger but these cars have the road holding abilities of a bag of worms. On dry roads and with slicks, they should all grip like #### to a shovel but even the single seater's pretty rubbish at taking sharp bends, whilst the A1 guys zip round them with hardly a twitch.
Any plans for these issues to be sorted in a patch as this is now beginning to seriously annoy?:arge:
Scawen said recently that the improved AI is top of his todo list. It's not been updated since S1 and since S2 it has been pretty broken. Hopefully we should see it in patch Y, as it's one of the main big things which need to be done before S2 Final.
Don't ban them, they'll just come back and wreck you next time, or they'll post about it on the forum. Give them a fair go, we were all rookies once. It is best to encourage and support them so that they may reach their full potential. Spread the love.... hug an AI driver today.
I agree with you folks on the AI issue. They are not very intelligent and in some cars they won't shift past 5th gear. They don't recognize you on the track and they observe no rules. Frankly, I don't know why the devs put them there.
But if you want to learn to race clean, fill the track with AIs and start from the back. Try to pass them clean and win that race. I bet you'll have your hands full.
I do miss racing with good AIs as I did on GP4. That game has AIs that race like people, they wait behind you and avoid wrecking. And you have to be good to beat them. I haven't seen nothing like that to date.
Good AIs may be a fuzzy dream in LFS but they are on my wish list.
The AI worked better in S1 days and haven't been updated to make use of the S2 features yet. Scawen is currently working on updating the AI. They're pretty cool actually, and get better at racing with experience. They always disappear when it's they're shout at the pub though.
Yeah, back in S1 the AI was pretty raceable, although mine always quickly turned into vicous bastards! But as I said, it has not been properly updated for all the new cars, tracks and features, hench one of the reasons S2 is marked as 'alpha' and not considered complete.
