Yes.. you read the title correctly. A DIFFERENT CAR!!!. This time its the TBO class cars ,(FXO, RB4 and XRT)

I would also like all entrants to vote on how they would like to qualify.. Either via the Single Lap Quilifying (nice and tense. i quite like this) or the free for all standard 25 minutes lap as much as you like.

Rules:

THESE ARE ONLY GUIDELINES but please try to follow them:

1. Incidents: If you hit another driver and gain a position advantage it is good sportsmanship to allow that driver to retake his position. We do not expect you to stop racing. Use your head, give some courtosy.

2. Defensive driving: Blocking is all part of a great race. You are allowed to block other drivers from passing you as long as:

(1) No deliberate contact is made

(2) the other driver is NOT beside you. If the driver is already beside you DO NOT force that driver off of the track.

3. Exiting pits: When exiting pits make sure that it is clear before you enter onto the racing line. Use of the track map and the look left & right keys/buttons is recommended. If cars are approaching, do NOT leave the pit lane unless you are fighting for position - Please do NOT cross the pit exit line when leaving the pits unless there is an obstruction that makes it impossible not to do so.

4. Re-entering track: If you go off the track in a race DO NOT reset the car or drive back onto the track. You could possibly ruin another race in progress. Again, you should use your map and look controls to see if anyone is coming. If you do re-enter the track safely but are too slow and drivers are getting closer behind you... drive off the racing line, or if necessary, pull off to the side of the track to give room.

5. Car Damage / Fuel: If your car gets severely damaged in an incident and you want to try and make it back to the pit lane, then, drive off the racing line to let faster cars past. If you run out of fuel get off the racing line as soon as possible or pit right away. We recommend that you turn your hazard lights on to let other players know you are a caution on the track (press 9 on your keyboard. 0 to turn them off).

6. Contact: Rubbing and tapping are all parts or everyday racing, so, this is allowed as long as it doesn't harm anyone's race or gain you an advantage. Due to occasional lag, small taps may cause a major crash, so be careful!

7. Race Rules: If you are being lapped by leaders please let them pass you, when it is safe do to so ( i.e. not in the middle of a chicane ), and as quickly as possible. You should be told by an on screen message if you are being lapped, the words “Blue Flag will be displayed.

8. Pitting: Pitting can become dangerous if you do not pay attention. It is required that you drive in the 'pit lane' used to enter and exit the pits. Don't drive straight across every pit box, instead go to the furthest available pitbox. - This will allow more drivers to pit safely on the same lap(s)

9. Deliberate Corner Cutting: Deliberate Corner cutting is not liked. Please dont do it.

If a driver who has entered the race is unable to attend on the day it is upto THAT DRIVER to find a replacement to drive for him and to let ATC Franky500 know about the change as soon as it is known. (e-mail: [email protected]). If the driver is unable to find a replacement then a reserve driver will be given the space.

This is a FUN event, Some racers may provide Race stats or replays if they wish, however there is no gaurantee that there will be any posted.

I voted because I'm likely to participate, but it depends on wether I can make it. My status is "trying hard to take part".

But generally I don't think you can qualify 32 drivers in 30 minutes in a singlelap-quali.

with the way i do it .. it takes anything between 25 - 40. which i think is a good enough window .
it was there to see what sort of responce there was. The other track can be the next race.

Quote from zeugnimod :You cheated. You dont have 11456 friends who voted for BL.

But seriously why was the vote even there when you take BL now?

Because he didn't take into account the actual lap time for the Aston track....that's my guess anyway, pinky.
thats about right. But i guess we can still do that track for next time. Just will need to be in quicker cars.
Well thats a bugger :|

Chances of the race being done by 10pm uk time?
Im sure it will be over by then.

One lap is 1:24/1:25 long so the race should be finished even before 9 pm.

Darn it, Ive got a gig that night (again)! Oh well, I'll get a GP race eventually. You never know I may be up to speed by then...

Hope all goes smoothly for you.
i wont be able to race this one because i will not be home in time. (work commitments) i will be 30 mins late so there's no real point me signing up

I enjoyed the last one so im in
I'm in!

Not done a GP in a while due to falling in love with the FZR, but I think I might be able to drag myself away from it for long enough to get back in the TBO groove.

At least with the new grid sizes there's more chance of somebody being slower than me!

Any thoughts on Ballast? I fancy taking the FXO but It'd be nice to give the XRT and RB4 a chance!
Long time no see Afro. Glad ur still interested in these as for somebody being slower than you.. yes there is more chance.. but its still unlikely
Franky, would it be possible to display the car each entrant is using?
but that spoils the surprise. and it isn't important.
Quote from Leprekaun :Franky, would it be possible to display the car each entrant is using?

There isn't a requirement to decide what car you are going to drive, if you turn up on the day thinking I'll drive this beast but then change your mind before quali, I think that’s ok.

The only restriction there would be would that you have to qualify and race in the same type of car (but that’s kind of obvious).

Just drive what you want to drive, doesn't really matter what others do!?
I have just done a Reformat and have lost all your entry e-mails, If those who have signed up already could re-do the form. it would be much appreciated, Otherwise Details will come in a last minute PM before the race.

@Lep, as said by Gag, its

a.) not that kind of serious event,
b.) I dont have those details anyway.
c.) how will any of this affect you?
Set me up baby.
I just don't want to be in a situation where I choose the RB4 or XRT and then find a LOAD of FXOs on the grid, meaning that I don't really stand a chance .
all cars are preety well balanced now (IMO) just pick the car u like most... this is a FUN event, who cares if u win or lose... its about the racing.. wether its for 1st place or 31st place!!
Quote from Leprekaun :Franky, would it be possible to display the car each entrant is using?

Spoils the fun and suprise . Its a fun race, not a league .
Quote from Leprekaun :I just don't want to be in a situation where I choose the RB4 or XRT and then find a LOAD of FXOs on the grid, meaning that I don't really stand a chance .

Have you driven the TBO class at all on Patch X?

If you were the only one using FXO, THEN you probably wouldnt stand a big chance.
Quote from Leprekaun :I just don't want to be in a situation where I choose the RB4 or XRT and then find a LOAD of FXOs on the grid, meaning that I don't really stand a chance .

Just because they may be more FXOs on the track doesnt mean it will stop you from having fun, its a fun race, not a league. Who knows, you could give FXOs a run for their money.
the main reason the TBO clas will be used is because of the new balancing system. alot of racing was done on the test server with this combo and all cars had wins. because of the balancing it means that everyone can drive their prefered car (RWD, 4x4, FWD) format. the XRT can pull away on the straights but if the rb4 is in the slip then the rb4 will win the next corner. the FXO is a very well balanced car and that too is also a bit quicker on the straights but the xrt and rb4 might beat in the bendy stuff.
there's no race report from a race director
there are no penaulties given by anyone other than the server itself
there is no slow down lap at the end
there's no points for the top 8 drivers
but there's loads of fun to be had.

looks like it's gonna be a single lap qually. that doesn't even matter because the only reason qually is done (imo) is because is stops people messing and whinning b4 the race. it's 60 laps (about 75 mins) just relax and have some fun organised non-league racing. doesn't matter if it's for 1st or 30th it's still a race.
