I do exactly as anyone says.. skins i made in skins folder and settings in settings folder , but if i start LFS they dont appear in my garage under settings and skins :s
Make sure the car name has not been changed, XFG_NAME.jpg. Same goes for the settings, XF GTI_BL1_NAME.set.
Also when you're in game make sure you're looking at the right car, you've put a XFG skin and setup in the correct folders but you're using the XRG, for example.
A) make skin, save as XXX_filename.jpg (XXX = 3 letter code for the car. ie 'XRT_Whatever you wanna call the car.jpg', 'XFG_whatever.jpg', etc) put into LFS '/data/skins/' Folder.
B) Load LFS and go to the garage
3) on the left hand side, amongst the list of paintschemes choose 'NEW COLORS', then select the skin file. You can also modify an existing scheme by choosing a scheme on the left, then picking a new skin for that scheme by clicking on the TEXTURE NAME near the bottom of the screen.
Go into your skins folder and look for XFG_DEFAULT. Then copy and rename it to XFG_TEST.
Start LFS, go into the garage and select the XFG. Next go to New Colours and look for XFG_TEST (it should be at the top of th list, but you can click on date to order them newest first) Make sure you have a good look so that you don't miss it.
There is also a Colours option at the bottom that allows you to change the colour of the body and wheels, if these aren't white (set the bars all the way tot he left) it could make it seem like the skins hasn't changed.
I had 2 skins in my skin folder from CMX VIEWER
I dragged them to the SKINS folder from LFS
They are named XRT_GNAR and XRT_GNAR2
The SKINS map in LFS also has a readme that says: "put YOUR skins here, they will be automaticly converted to dds for in game use."
I started LFS I went to singleplayer i went to garage i did NEW COLOR and the skins were not in the list neither when i ordered by date or name
Just make sure that the skins are .jpg file format and not .bmp or something. And try deleteing LFS, re-download it and installing again, apart from that I have no idea.
