engine vibration
I know its a canned effect but it would be good to have option to have the engine vibration effect in ff a la gtr2 , gtl, it adds to the immersion for me.

put a subwoofer on your desk.

Yes it would, it could be simulated.... couldn't it?
No, it would be canned (=fake). Why? Because the engine doesn't make your real wheel vibrate by rotating left and right quickly.
Actually, it would work with wheels that had vibration feedback.
Yes it would. I wonder why all wheels have only vibration or FFB, not both.
im sure sombody would like the vibrations *ahem*
yeh my wheel only has vibration...not force....i would LOVE this PLEASE!

this would be one of those things that would be cool for the first couple of times, then get on your tits. Would be good to have your wheel vibrating when you turned your engiine on, but you would quickly get bored of it and turn it off.
but also...when you crash into something...it vibrates

you shouldnt be crashing into things

People would be crashing into him

P.S. This is the wrong forum squire.

I just hope the devs do not waste dev time this, their time can be far better used on real sim work than fake canned effects on the FF.

It will tell you nothing and strangly enough people are now trying to make the FF in rF work like LFS but this is just showing how unrealistic most of the mods and user content actually are in rF. My guess is that ISI always used it to hide their bad FF & physics

Left/right quick vibrations is not engine vibration and also masks the FF.

I don't know. It could work really well if the hardware was right (variable 2d, maybe even 3d) and it would be implemented right. It would be much better at representing vibrations that are felt when the whole car vibrates compared to FFB.
But I don't think it's that important, only a small immersion increase. So I don't think there will be any serious hardware with both FFB and vibration.
The Xbox 360 wheel has two vibration motors and Force Feedback

I also think vibration would be kinda cool if implemented right, not jsut for the engine, but also for varying road surfaces on different tracks.
Honestly, i think this would be a good idea. If there are wheels on the market (like XBox360) that support vibration and FF this would be great! Of course it should not be canned effect, but "real" according to engine revs and wheel/surface condition. Imagine the vibration when running with a flat tyre or with a bent suspension.

Conclusion:
Canned vibration effects: -1
simulated according to road and car conditions: +1

... but this should be moved to improvement suggestions
