Ferrari Sabotage

I am not trolling, what other comments might I have on this subject than exactly what I had posted earlier. Ferrari are punks for losing, and they ALWAYS go and blame something out of ordinary in the team for their cars being slow. If this is true, then count my comment out, but the Ferraris aren't completely off the pace, they are still going quite fast. And any competitors being faster than Ferrari at a few GPs is nothing new, so why does it magically have to be these few last GPs that some dude sabotages their fuel .

THERE is your nonsense genius.

You probably come up with the same excuses yourself when playing online in LFS... everyone does. "Oh it is my setup, anyone have a faster setup?" ---or--- "I am tired, goodbye" (essentially meaning I don't like losing, this sucks). "My dog hit my brake pedal"

Now, as far as i can tell, everybody and their dog is claiming that stepney has sabotaged the ferrari's by adding some sort of white powder into the fuel tank. However, this makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

"Since the mysterious powder was discovered, the Ferrari team’s performance has fallen in the past three grands prix."

Is it just me that thinks the white powder was actually some sort of performance enhancer? Obviously if the powder was found, all the parts would be replaced and stuff, so why has performance Dropped!?. Seems to me like ferrari got caught out cheating and are using stepney as a fall guy.

It's funny what the only other logical explanation you could think of was. I'm sure even Ferrari are less mischievous than you.

Oh yes, that's right, you got it. I am frequently heared of making excuses for my driving I constantly worry about my laptimes try to make sense of it all. It must be the setup, it must be... Nooot!! illepall Keep up the fantasies
I remember Michael Alboretto leagues ahead in the world championship at the half way point, when he had an argument with Enzo Ferrari. He retired in just about every race after that, and Ferrari did not win the championship.

Ferrari's on track performance is as much about politics as it is development, with things like this going on behind the scenes I think it's unlikely Ferrari will deliver a championship this season - unless these wrangles are clearing the air and preventing such an ocurrance.

Oh I dont know, it's easy to read a lot into things when you dont have the information.

Sorry to go off-topic!

Cocaine comes from the sea? Pffft, next thing you know they'll be telling us that marijuana grows on trees. illepall

Sabotage wouldn't be a new revelation in F1 and I suppose fuel is an easy and effective target. Still, who knows with F1? The press are full of crap, the teams BS to each other and Bernie has forgotten what Formula One is. As far as the integrity of F1 is concerned Ferrari are the least of their problems. I'm still waiting for the headline "Has Michael Schumacher Sabotaged Ferrari In Wild Fit Of Envy?". I mean, the press reported poor Mr Lauda's condition in the papers after his terrible accident in 1976 as "Niki Lauda, the fastest racing driver in the world hasn't got a face now - it is nothing but raw flesh, the eyes are popping out".

so the white powder was some random journalist taking too much and seeing it everywhere, thus it being complete bollocks.
The affaire seems far more serious than predicted (sorry for all Ferrari haters, bad news for you )

Read these interesting and damning words straight from McLaren official site:

McLAREN RACING STATEMENT - 3 July 2007

Woking, United Kingdom, 3rd July 2007: McLaren became aware on the 3rd July 2007 that a senior member of its technical organisation was the subject of a Ferrari investigation regarding the receipt of technical information. The team has learnt that this individual had personally received a package of technical information from a Ferrari employee at the end of April.

Whilst McLaren has no involvement in the matter and condemns such actions it will fully co-operate with any investigation. The individual has in the meanwhile been suspended by the company pending a full and proper investigation of the matter.

No further comment will be made.

-----

Edit: on the same page there's an update. Even now McLaren doesn't try to deny the involvement of a member. There's only an offer of full cooperation to FIA. The extremely careful wording leaves an eerie feeling, like they totally recognise the seriousness of the issue removing all hints of emotions. Are they scared? I don't know. Worried? Of course. Indignant for an undeserved loss of reputation? Impossible to say. Hiding guilt? Once again, impossible to say.
I'm really curious to know the outcome of this story. Some comments I read on BBC seem to be taken straight from alt.conspiracy. Lunacy can be entertaining, sometimes.
Toyota did the same a while ago..like what ? 2 years ago ? That case is still not closed..this is bigger I'm pretty sure about that.

i thought it was, didnt a couple of folk get a bit of time in jail?
No it's still ongoing and a few (former-) teammembers are still awaiting charges. It's just that Ferrari didn't push for "the case" at the time it came to light because they were champion anyway and well.. Toyota
This is much more serious..I wouldn't be suprised if the McLarens were "faster" throughout the last few races (or the Ferrari's slower heh) because of all this.
I think it's quite impossible to make such a performance jump like McLaren did i nsuch a short time period so it's probably fair to assume Ferrari did a huge step backwards.. this is not about copying actual bodyparts/panels/wings like Toyota did..if you look to both McLaren and Ferrari body, they are quite different.

I wouldn't think much about such hypothesis at the moment. So far, surprises have been quite a few. Nobody could have easily predicted all of this. This mysterious white powder is indeed very powerful.

Ferrari said it was some good sh*t...

Certainly better than the one you find in McLaren. Ron Dennis must be having a bad trip right now.

Quote from McLaren.com :McLAREN RACING STATEMENT - 4 July 2007

Woking, United Kingdom, 4th July 2007: Following our statement of 3rd July 2007, McLaren has completed a thorough investigation and can confirm that no Ferrari intellectual property has been passed to any other members of the team or incorporated into its cars.

Sure. So he only used the information for his private, personal F1 car or what?

I wonder if there'll ever be a detailed, public report on this.

But you gotta admit; the discovery of the white powder gives a whole new meaning to the term "racing line".
There are several new bits of news on this, you just don't know who to believe. Stepney is making some pretty wild allegations now, saying he has had to leave Italy because his life was in danger. That doesn't sound too convincing does it, I have a feeling we won't ever find out the full story on this one. I hope Mclaren are not punished too harshly if no Ferrari stuff is found on their cars, just for the sake of the championship because its looking very close now.
Quote from Gunn :But you gotta admit; the discovery of the white powder gives a whole new meaning to the term "racing line".

I think the white powder i central in all this, it creates magalomania. :thumbsdow

Is this the following story plausible? (or am I just guessing a bit too wild)
Some dudes do good work and is rewarded very well, money fuels greed and pays for parties with cristal, coke and "gridgirls". Easy cash gives a hunger for more easy cash. Same dudes realizes that they know valuable information and tries to sell themselves, potential buyers are not agreeing on the price (the guys are megalomaniac, hence asks for too much)
Dudes now head for the bookies, becuase they know how to make the probable winner fail.

(i see a classic rise-and-fall movie coming up)
