Hello!!!
Yo guys!

I heard about the demo from this random guy on the internet, and he told me about this cool game and where to get it. So I downloaded the demo and a day later I upgraded (i.e about an hour ago). Great fun. But it is kinda hard to get used to the formula1 cars, argh I was all over the place! Takes abit of getting used to I guess. I'm only using a mouse as well so I need to invest in one of them thingies, not sure what their called, like one of those sets, with a steering wheel and pedals and stuff, I figure it would be easier with that.

I was also guranteed that there would be more courtesy, well there has been a conciderable amount more, but you still get the odd **** sometimes

Well just wanted to make you guys aware of my presence, hope that isn't illegal on these forums

Got any useful tips for this newbie?

Thanks!
Dan
Welcome aboard Dan!
Useful tip 1: Get a wheel & pedals
Useful tip 2: Stay away from the Formula V8, its a bitch to keep in a straight line under full throttle.
3. Join in some servers running UF and XF cars, and get to know the handling, and the tracks.
4. Have fun, and remember, although it may take over your life, it's just a game.
Heheheh! Thanks alot man
I'll take those tips into concideration.
Cya for now, I'm off to race abit more!
Just noticed you are on the oval and the V8. May I suggest that although it's easy and nice and fast, that you avoid the oval. It will only teach you bad habits, isn't at all a challenge, and generally no fun imo.

The fun in LFS is to master as many cars and tracks as possible, and be flexible in each too. I can almost certainly say you'll get a lot more out of LFS on proper tracks.

Just my opinion of course, so ignore it if you want. Welcome to LFS, and whatever Al Heeley says about it apparently being 'just a game', ignore him too. He's not often wrong, but in this case he's very much so.

Hahahah! I'm being spied on!

Nah well I thought "what the heck" and tried it, and these nice german people taught me how to accept "configs" or whatever it is, and he gave me something, and told me to select it and then try racing with the V8 on the oval, and my god, I went like 20mph faster! I topped like 190mph!
The crashes are awsome too! Yeh but I think I will stay away from ovals and try and get better at another vehicle. Heheheheh, forgive me, I'm just a boy with a new toy

Oh yeh, can I ask, you know those "credits" that you get? Like when you first start the game, at the front menu theres your name and underneath it it has something about credits... What exactly are credits and what do they do? Thanks guys.

Currently they do nothing. S1 version days you needed them to unlock cars.
