Incident occurring between kdempsey and myself.

I would like to report kdempsey's bad driving behaviour. At the exit of T1, he was less than 1/2 alongside my car, yet he hits me and keeps the throttle planted and kept turning into me causing my car to spin into a 90 degree angle to the left and losing many positions while he drives on as if nothing happened.

I will review both incidents and report back.

LFSn00b and craig12345
craig12345 overshot his braking point, hit LFSn00b and several other drivers.
Penalty: craig12345 (2 race warning) - If you step out of line in your next 2 races you will receive an automatic disqualification and/or points deduction.

leprekaun and kdempsey
A racing incident but could have been avoided if kdempsey lift off accelerator after initial contact.Penalty: kdempsey (2 race warning) - If you step out of line in your next 2 races you will receive an automatic disqualification and/or points deduction.

This is supposed to be a fun league, i don't like giving out warnings or penalties. Overall the standard of driving was pretty high. Keep it clean the next day lads!

i rolled my car on qual lap and nothin g was done/said about it :S , should of atleast been allowed to reset t fisih my last and start the grid in last place

but that dont matter im pulling ut of this crappy championship anyways

What should have been said about it? Just spectate and then join the race when it starts.

No you wouldn't be allowed reset. Your not allowed reset in any league. You were allowed take your position at the back of the grid for race 1 though.
Not our fault your internet connection cant hold you on the server.

Thanks Niki! . I want this to be fun as well but that doesn't mean ram people out of the way, does it?. I enjoy racing with yourself and many others but frankly, I get the impression from some drivers that they don't know whats ok and whats not. I entered the race last night with the mind set of trying my hardest to have 0% contact between myself and other drivers and if you look at the replays, you'll find some close calls between myself and other drivers where I slowed down hard to avoid contact.

I agree, I had a few incidents, maybe caused by myself, but I am sure some were caused by lack of spatial awareness, i.e. I was on the inside with enough overlap, but was turned into.

Problem is, in real life most of the incidents would be acceptable and you wouldn't even raise an eyelid, but in LFS all hell breaks lose (huge 90DEG slides etc) if you touch someone

In fairness Dan, you turned into me last night at the last corner when I was on the inside there. Its nothing big, nvm but I just thought I'd mention it.

By that time I was probably thoroughly fed up with the whole race, not that it's any excuse.....

Lets hope Round 2 is a bit better........

i wonder how , i had to turn tight to make the turn but if i didnt id wreak the guy to my right so , i turn he came in so close id concider it trying to ram me off the track , i rolled , he nudged me and i was on my roof :S besides from that

it took me 40 trys to join the servers before qual , after qual it took another 30 trys then before the racde i couldnt even join , might wanna upgrade the server cause its not me , my firewalls fully allowing lfs and with 400 kbps and a 3.2 ghz pc i should connect first time every time ( like i normally do.... )

I'm sorry to inform you it's not the server. You PC performance make no difference either. It's your connection or something on your network affecting your LFS connection. You were lagging really bad, and causing the server to lag too. Get a replay of qual (for soemone else) and try watch yourself... you warp all over the place.
Nobody else had trouble connecting to the server, you and LFSn00b were the only ones i saw lagging. He has already found his reason for this.

Bandwith is actually not that important. Latency is however, ie your pings. Basically its how long it takes for a request from your computer to be replied and delivered to your machine. This is affected bya few things including many "hops" your packets have to take and how long each of the hops take. You could have a 10Mb connection, but if it takes 500ms for a reply the game will be unplayable.

You could try a tracert to the server IP from the command prompt to track where the packets are going and how long its taking to get there. Heres an example of my route to lfsforums:


On the other hand, if things are generally fine for you on this server it may have been a temporary issue with one or more of your "hops". EG if a router went down along your traditional route, the packets may have to be sent through another three routers instead, killing your pings and destroying your gaming. Downloads however would not be majorly affected.

Do you have exclusive access to your internet connection at home or are there others sharing it?

Irishnoob's spec is OK from the looks of things, but I thought id point out that with the bigger-than-ever grids, lower-spec machines will have difficulty maintaining framerate and as a result will lag, irrespective of internet connection.

Can I complain about all the drivers who talked during superpole/race. I know i am guilty and hold my hand up and say I'm sorry.

IMO, you shouldn't be talking during a race with LFS's current chat system.

Either a) set up a TS server (which a friend of mine has done)
Or b) Split LFS's chat
Or c) have harsher penalties for people who talk.

I counted 3-4 people who talked during the race. Even though I was just spectating.

Fang, have to say, it won't happen, not a chance in HELL it'll happen. Quite simply, we are a species who don't know how to shut the f*ck up and when we are told to shut the f*ck up, we usually yap even more . Like what Dan and niki suggested, if you don't want to get disturbed during super pole or race actually, block msgs. Its a great option that the devs have made and it should be used

Or just use TS Lep. It's there for a reason. Right? May as well take advantage of what's there. I personally vote for a /complete/ ban on chatting in-server.

Blocking messages only goes so far. In that you may miss admin messages/the admin talking to you.

Like I said, historically,in superpole you are/were allowed to chat, with drivers blocking messages.

Weather this is suitable for Niki's league, thats his choice to make.
