The online racing simulator
YOu can have them in your go-karts in LFS when they are added. But I don't think many/any of the cars currently in LFS would have a wheel display like that. Live splits, predictive lap timing and other clever stuff remain rare in club racing, and no exactly common in professional racing.

And the tyre temps would only be available in the BF1. The others would use sensors in the pits. The cheaper cars would use IR sensors on the surface of the tyre (which are next to useless!), and the professional series would have invasive sensors to get the core temps. Either are only slightly useful if you do a hard lap into the pits. Cruise and the tyres will cool too much to be representative.

Pit to car (or car to pit) radio is also rare in anything other than professional racing.

So pitboards, radio messages in the 'hotter' cars, and advanced info (via the radio) in the BF1 only.

But get rid of the HUD now and you won't see many complaints from me
Quote from kompa :+1 for this and forced dynamic LOD reduction of 1.00 as well! LFS should also kill all known popup causing processes such as messenger antivirus etc.

You are stupid, you are supposed to configure those programs NOT to pop up when playing a game. I never had such problems, the only problem is most ppl are just too damn lazy to check out all the settings and then blame the program for it while wrecking others race. If u were sitting next to me saying such things i would pull the trigger.

As a reply on the TS, to force shift-F maybe is a bit too extreme, but i do not totally disagree as it still would be a server side option. There could be some league races with all pro drivers who would extremely enjoy that sense of 'realness' as for some cars this lack of information would actually make a lot of sense. Making pitstops and not knowing on what position to come back on the track, u really have to calculate and be smart, u can't anticipate on the minimap. Really cool idea. On the open Redline servers this is not an option due too inexperienced drivers. I really need to look at the map the whole race long to safe myself from major damage. Also the n00bs should look at the map when they reposition after a crash, although they mostly DON'T look at the map at all! So the forced shift-F option would not even be spotted by n00bs thats how rediculous they drive, they can't read and drive, can't look at the map while driving, they just can't do anything right. Sry for getting a bit carried away, it's really frustrating sometimes and i don't get the total disagrement on this shift-f idea since it would be an option and won't be used that much because no one likes the idea! But this one password-locked elite race thats happening once in a while could benefit from this option to make it even more realistic. What's the problem... to me there is no way to think that when such an option is introduced all servers would suddenly use it! Those ppl who run these servers are mainly not that stupid.

Don't get me wrong though, i'm not that PRE or against this idea in any way i really don't care that much. I'm mainly concered by the way everyone rejects it as if it would be something major happening that ruins the whole game while that's totally NOT the case.
hi. i wasn't being very serious there. if you are that clever good for you, most people aren't. still, i think dynamic lod reduction should be defaulted to 1.00 unless it already is.

Good step towards hardcore mode. Should make for an interesting league...

:nol2:

FIA GT cars use MOTEC and similar systems that can do tyre temps, brake disc temps etc. If anything for the GTR cars we need brake disc temps.

It's use in Arena Racing USA where they would have little use. I imagine they use them in Clio Cup and similar.

Pit boards should be in all the cars, radio messages should be used in all cars and a MOTEC type thingy on the GTRs and possibly the C-GTRs.

Brake temperatures aren't simulated in LFS. As for tire temps, at best they can get a surface readout, but I doubt they go around looking at this info or whether they actually bother to record it seeing as surface temps don't really tell much about tire temps and tires used in GT racing rarely have overheating problems.
Forcing Shift-F would piss all the noobs off... the want to see their map/lap/times/etc...

Shift-F should always be the choice of the driver's own will!
Except in leagues. So the option should still exist.

people are asking for it as an OPTION

People go an look at the numberof FCV servers at the moment. What % of overall have it. Almost 0%.
