Personally I find all off the shelf CMS systems have two problems: Firstly their simplicity makes them more awkward to achieve what you want to achieve and ultimately harder than making a site by hand [funnily enough - the problem you seem to be having]; and secondly their commonality makes them vulnerable to hacker attack.
