The online racing simulator
Many thanks LOOK Franke...What a great community this game has! :D
Hi there,

I'm not sure if this guy I met today in the Conedodgers 3 server posts on here or not, but I just had to post and show my gratitude to ''LOOK Franke''.

He spotted me on the server, complimented my driving as someone new to LFS, then invited me onto his server for practice. At this point he spent a few hours talking me around the AS Cadet course until I started posting some competitive lap times.

I could never have expected to be treated like this as a ''noob'' (I hate that word ) in a simulation such as this.

It is great to become a part of such a community, and fantastic to have been made to feel so welcome.

Many thanks,

Andrew
Welcome mate!
This is LFS community at the forums: :grouphug:

This is LFS community at the track: :laola:
Ah i remember you

You did 52:41 in the end, right? I hope he also taught you some lessons about close racing and sportsmanship

While I totaly would usualy believe your story,

THIS.....HAPPENED..... AT CONEDODGERS? :chairfall < what just happened, really!)

Just to note: now, I at least have some hope for the place, after I got treated like complete CRAP on there, I haven't personaly bothered coming back. Well, I guess, sometimes, one arsehole ruins it for everybody, eh?
Thank you

It was a pleasure, and you are very welcome, i hope to see a lot more of you and you were a good pupil, if said something you did it more or less the way i told you on the very next lap, maybe except my pointer on T1

For all you "noob"'s out there, i have found out that if you ask questions on the track "AFTER RACES" not during, most people WILL help you...

Keep racing Andrew, and the rest of you noob's times will come down

LººK Franke
Well I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you on the track, I seem to have been bitten by the LFS bug good and proper!

I'll get T1 and T2 right in the end if my life depends on it!

Then again, I'm great on the straights...

And thank you Franke for being a TOP dog, man! I realy like nice people, so I give props to ya!

Such a coincidence!
I'm not so fast at the turns but I'm great at them straights too, mate!
We should create a team.

Welcome to S2.
It's not about how fast you race, but about how low you race.

...At least that is what they said in 2F2F movie

Welcome Origamiboy and have lots of fun

I guess it is a lot like real life...if you are a person willing to learn, and to listen to more experienced people, you will benefit tenfold. However, there are some who choose not to, be it arrogance or ignorance, and their behavior is reflected by this. And they are treated as such. You chose the latter, and because of it, our whole community benefits.

You will also find that was not an extraordinary occurrence; it just seems that the good is often shadowed by the bad.

Welcome to the community, Andrew! I look forward, as do others, to participating with you online.

Threads like this really affirm the many good facets of our little race sim community.
Great job Franke... makes one proud to be a Dane and to know you...

But surely there are plenty of good people around ready to help... I myself have enjoyed lots of help in my "younger days"....

Actually ConeDodgers is the place to be if you just love AS Cadet in UFR/XFR... Lots of "noob"'s there, but you just have to learn to cope, make you have to think fast, and good practise, cos even good drivers make mistakes, and it is nice to practise your options when that happens. Besides it takes no more than 7 or 8 mins before the next race If you are a noob, what is better than a short track to practise on, the bad ones dissappear quite fast again, the ones with the desire keeps going, like Andrew, he was willing to learn and he got the hang of it (Except on T1 have to keep at it Andrew )...

Besides it is a great place to get setups for that track... Some are easy and some are tough to drive, but really fast...
Well, time for an update..

I've been continuing on the CD3 server as before with the UXR. Everyone on the server has been great, offering loads of tips and car setups. At times Franke and other players have spectated me and posted comments on my driving so I can see what needs improving as I go.

All of this has lead to me achieving a PB on the AS Cadet course of 51.97. Not the quickest by a long shot, but apparently enough to qualify me for the ''Pro'' Conedodgers servers.

Without the help I have recieved from the community I could never have hoped to improve this fast, having only got the game 3 days ago. Once again, thanks for all of the help.

I can't wait to see what else this sim holds in store over the coming months/years.

I was on a conedodgers server with the GTR'S, and aston GP long course.
My main reason, is that the people there completely misunderstand the Blue Flag rules, to them, if you're behind and they come... they yell shit like "blue flag, move the hell over and let us pass" I was entering a turn, not blocking, not doing anything, just driving, then suddenly I get a blue flag... so I go, ok, I'll slow through the corner so the faster guys can pass... notice I said, slow, not move way over off track. So, the dude just shoves me off anyway, and says all this bullshit about it... This kind of thing isn't new, and has happened to quite a few experienced racers as well, and they have complained about it... to not much avail.

Anyway, that's what happened, but i dont care so much anymore, and you proved how there are good people on the servers, so I'm now thinking of giving it another go.

GPL is better in that sense, you don't get boy racers who only take, not give.
Same thing happened to me too a few years ago. I can't remember if it was a demo or s2 server but it was blackwood with the gti and i was struggling to do a lap without kissing the grass.A few guys were racing at the same time and they finished their race. Then they started to spectate and watch me, giving advices and telling what to do they teached me how to drive in there.I managed to do some "not bad" laps. Shame i can't remember who they were...

I think there are many heroes like them in LFS.
So sweet and lovin' community. You gotta love it

Touching isn't it :lovies:

Respect to Franke and all like him.

Any volunteers to help me out on As North on the FZR or WE1 on the UFR?
All a mystery to me.......

Only half kidding btw
