1st gear 110+kph, 2nd 155+kph, 3rd 200+kph...

Just goes to show what kind of SUPERCAR PERFORMANCE we're all missing.

LX8 - when too much power and performance is not enough (aka supercar).
Well, we are and we aren't, it has less power and more weight than the FO8, so just imagine that but a bit slower and without the downforce.

Quote from Bob Smith :"it has less power and more weight than the FO8, so just imagine that but a bit slower and without the downforce."

All this in a package that's still somewhat roadable (if we use wide road super tires instead of slicks).

No CD player, check. No ABS, check. No TC, check. Absolutely NO useless components (e.g. cupholders), check!
Quote from Forbin :I have to say, compared to the FO8, the LX6 is quite tame. I think the LX8 would be a blast.

No harm intended but...:

You technichally cannot compare FO8 to LX6...
LX8 should be a gtr with slicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quote from mutt107 :LX8 should be a gtr with slicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it shouldn't
Quote from CodieMorgan :No harm intended but...:

You bumped a near year old thread for that?

Also, if the LX8 is going to be brought back into LFS, I'm pretty darn sure it will remain the same as it was before.
Quote from geeman1 :No it shouldn't

Agreed, if it ever did make it into LFS I hope its not a GTR. I just want an LX with a V8+Lots of power...It would be way more fun to drive and a lot more of a challenge...The LX6 is a blast to drive but it just leaves me wanting more power...wee, we can dream

Why would you want the LX8? People barely drive the LX4 and LX6 as it is. The only real turn on for me is this "LX Month" initiative, or else I would never touch them.
you want the lx8? enjoy!

The LX-8? Should be a drag car. With a BIG V8
But enough of the LX-8 plz. I mean really..... Until the contest started, no one really used Either LXs that are in the game So It could be a LX 12 for that matter

But if you still gotta go on about "rogue" LX cars that didn't get put into the game, then what about the LX-5? You know the number between 4 and 6?
What about that one? Do the Devs have supertisions towards odd numbers?
I mean even the UF-1 is short for 1000, an even number. Folks, there could be more to this than originally thought.
Quote from Racer Y :What about that one? Do the Devs have supertisions towards odd numbers?

I don't if you are joking or not, but the number in LFS means how many cylinders the car has (LX4 = I4, LX6 = I6, LX8 = V8, RB4 = I4, FO8 = V8). That's why they are even numbered
Except UF1 and BF1, which have other reasons for the number.
Actually, I thought the '4' in "RB4" refered to the AWD.
Quote from Jamexing :Still can't believe they killed it for the painfully slow UFs.

The UFR has the sweetest engine in LFS IMO, really nice little peaky racing engine, much nicer than the production stuff found in the FOX and XFR and overall a great little car to drive.

Quote from Jamexing :With the vastly improved tire physics currently used, I don't see why not

Back in the old patch Q days when the FO8 was almost impossible to launch in 1st gear with the default gearing (strange LACK of longitudinal grip from such wide and spposedly sticky slick tires).

It was never impossible to launch the FO8, just simply not pressing your throttle not quite so hard would have been far far easier than using the imaginary handbrake. I don't think being too hard to drive was ever the issue with the LX8, more that it was probably far faster than it should have been in comparison to the GTRs due to the fact it would end up with full race suspension and no chassis flex, a long way from the real V8 engined Sevens which have never been terribly sophisticated cars.
Quote from ajp71 :I don't think being too hard to drive was ever the issue with the LX8

Not what the beta testers said (or rather, alluded to).

And FZ50 has five cylinders...NOT!
The debate (for lack of a better word?) persists.

Will the LX8 return as an overpowered beast or a fine-handling CSR260 racer-esque 7?

XCNuse, care to elaborate on your thoughts?
Quote from Blackout :And FZ50 has five cylinders...NOT!

It has 50 cylinders

It'll be a rocket, on a constant mission to headbutt the horizon
A nice small V8 like the Radical twin Hyabusa and slicks would be amazing. True you'd have to be very careful with the throttle all the time. I'm just having great fun with the LX6 on AS North at the moment. Brilliant car. Definitely worth a race class all to itself.
Quote from Hammerdown :I'm just having great fun with the LX6 on AS North at the moment.

It's always the first car I take out on any circuit I haven't tried. AS North + LX6 is one of my favourite combos, even if I do suck at it.

I thought that description was for the Bugatti EB110?
