anyone got any good advice on a helmet for racing karts, are there special types of helmets that can only be used?

Yes mate i just use a motorbike helmet but it has to have the BS6658 sticker on the side (basically the blue one)

^^^ they are proper karting ones but i believe all full face motorsport designed helmets can be used.

I would recomend Arai SK5,GP5 K or if you have a big budget GP5

i would go for the SK-5 since its the lightest

It all depends on how much you value your head
I'd NEVER skimp on a helmet. I personally recommend Arai GP5 (but as Sully said, it's pricey!).
Technically most full face helmets will do.

Is this for leisure karting or real karting? If it's for leisure then a cap will do fine!

yh, always go for an Arai... best helmets out there, and they look the dogs nuts!

I like the sparco wind tunnel tested ones, they have a great shape allthough im not sure if they are specifically designed for karting. i'm stuck with a lovely looking John Reynolds AGv at the moment but im looking to get an Arai if i can afford the custom paint job!
