hi ive had a quick browse and not found anything to do with what i want.i run lfs dedi server and i just wondered is it possiable for me to host a dedi server and then join it my self.i probley sound stupid but i im not allways want to stay so i want dedi so i can just go and come as i please.i did try and connect and it says "client connect : connect failed all help will be apreciated thanks

Yes, ideally you need to use the LAN ip, not the in-game browser as;
1. it will be quicker
2. it avoids any compatibility issues with any home networking kit you may or may not have

ok can you tell me in brief what 2 do then ty

I also want t be able to host a didicated server on PC A and then open game (still on PC A) and play it-i have tried this but evreytime i did my lag bar went uber high and times me out =/

Start LFS, goto Multiplayer > Join specific game > local network.

If it's the same PC type "127.0.0.1" for the Host IP address. If its a different address type the IP of the machine running the server. To get this goto Start > Run, type "cmd" click ok and then type "ipconfig" and use the local IP found there (local IPs start with one of the following: 192.168.*, 10.*, 172.16-18.*).

Ok so maby i am off on LFS tnite but i'v done that 127. ect and typed in the correct ports and passwrd but it also says:

client connect : connect failed

Ne ideas?

EDIT MKII: well i can connect to my server with the connect to specific game/main LFS server window neway and that seems to be working now. so nvm.

wow thanks the_angry_angel it realy worked.aprt form the fact that when i put my admin pass in it doesnt give me admin and yes it is correct but oh well ty anyway

It should give you ultimate admin powers - if you use the correct password Remember in the cfg its /admin for the admin password
