OK, time for my view on this...

I go on the CLC cruise servers quite a lot because they are actually quite good fun, a nice place to chill... and throw a flaming banana at me all you like, I'm bored of LFS right now. I know there's alot of combo's that I haven't done, but the ones that are always around. I've tried the whole joining an empty server and setting it to a combo I like, but that just doesn't seem to work anymore.

For me, I'm bored of doing same combos over and over again (apart from FE1/UF1, i love that too much!). Cruise servers are a great way to relax after a long day at work.

At the end of the day it isn't taking racers away, we all have a choice of what we want to do, and what we want to race, and if people (myself included) want to cruise then so be it. Leave us be.

Stop flaming us to hell, and throwing insults calling us all 'noobs' because I can tell you I certainly am not a noob! 40,000+ miles on LFS. won many races. podium in 1 in 3 races. I wouldn't call myself a noob at all... and those who know me know i hate talking myself up.

Well said, and I think this ends the discussion about it.
People have their own will, and can choise what and where they want to race. If they want to race, sure, go on one of those race servers. If you just want to race around and relax if you eighter are not in a mood or tired - join a cruise server
And you got a good point there aswell, it doesn`t nessesery means your`a n00b just because you like to hang out on one of the cruise servers.

but when I feel the need to just cruise around and chill, then I boot up TDU, even though its not finished yet
IF places like South City, Aston or Fern Bay were fully opened to allow 'Free Roam', then I would probably cruise more on LFS, but driving around the same road gets a bit boring after a few laps..

The only reason why I don't play TDU (i have it) is because of the bad frame rate I had, which was fixed with the patch, but now I have even bigger problems with stutters every 5 seconds which make it once again un-playable.

TDU = one of the most broken games ever!

/me would normally say that Chris got a M$FF USB wheel, but I know for a fact he gots a G25 like me !
Trolling through the Atari forums, it seems that most people with stutter probs either have a M$FF Wheel or a SB Audigy soundcard...I am going to hide under a table/behind the sofa, because the patch has actually IMPROVED my gameplay!
Now running at a steady 26-28fps @ 1280*960, but without HDR and only 2*AA, and that is on an Athlon +3400 with only 1Gb RAM and a 6600GT gfx card! Using bog-standard AC97 onboard soundcard, and apart from the music being a bit quiet, and the new cars sounding like they using a bastardised version of the _OLD_ LFS sound code...not too bad!

well personally i think it is good that there are new cruise servers being made, because soon you are going to have everyone on the server crusing round in FXR, XRR and FZR's and to me that is not fun, as in police chases will be boring and no fun in builing the wee UF1's hehe joking, but if you have more cruise servers then you get to start from the beginning once you have got a good car somewhere else and would like to start in a new communitiy and with a different setup so yea i think its good but i agree it would be good if we had a filter for cruise servers and to make it only ones with INSIM not the ones wehre u can drive in any cars as i find that quite boring

I don't get the "cop chase" thing - originally when MG did C 'n R as a special event it was a glorified game of tag and blasted fun, then all these CnR servers started and the punishment for "breaking a rule" was not a chase but a ban

Seriously, if you say that everyone are the same on the Cruise servers, that everyone there are just.. crap drivers that certainly only can drive there, then you`r just stupid.
I bet many of them could drive faster than you on some tracks. You don`t really get the point that most people on those servers are there just to relaxe, between races and free time, it has nothing with their level of racing experience or anything, so shut up now please.

I can somehow agree that I`m a n00b, and not a very grown up person.
But I know that I can drive equally and faster than a lot of people on this forum EVEN if I want to stay some on the cruise server.

I think that so many people are being completly idiotic about this.

Cruise servers, are quite good fun. The only reason why I wanted to create one, was because I loved CLC's CC (still do, well now called Aston Cruise). There was a few things, that I wanted to add and a few thigns that I wanted to remove.

So, I made one, with the things that I thought were important. Hense LTC.

As for the "its a race sim, not a cruise sim". Its also not a Drift Sim, but you guys dont seem to complain about them. There are a hell of a lot more Drift servers, than there are Cruise servers.

At the end of the day, if the Cruise servers "steal" so many players, then its not so much of a bad thing? is it? It must be good, if there are that many players "stuck" into it, then they cannot be that "boring" and a "waste of time".

Yoy saying something there, we canot say that the cruise server steals people, people a free to chose what server they play on, and saying that the servers steals people sounds odd, I mean, do you say that people canot make up their own choise? That the server brainmanipulate people to go on cruise servers?

well im pretty new to lfs and to be honest I was more than a little disappointed with the choice in servers. I'm in california and I don't know if that puts me in some weird time zone or what, but I only see about 25-30 servers at a time, most of which seem to be cruise, private, empty, or CTRA. I find cruise servers to be an immature way to have children take fake money away from me whilst driving laps in lfs' crappiest car, the UF1. CTRA servers are not an option to me due to casper the friendly invisible passenger, so those are out. It really doesn't leave me with much. I'm kind of regretting buying S2 and I only wish for there to be as many servers as the demo(or more) for me to choose from.

The passenger is a setup issue. Just make a new setup for your car and it works for CTRA.

New setups stops the whole passenger issue.

Take a look down the bottom, there are a few options that you can turn to "yes", maybe that will bring a few more servers up.

God, the server with the new map was hell yesterday, great map, but people were only fighting.

Anyways, this is how I think about the cruise servers.

I race, a lot, especially on the CTRA, Redline Racing and sometime on the Conedodgers servers. When I don't feel like concentrating too much but still want a good race, I go to the CTRA Bump n Jump ( I think that's the name ) but when I just want to enjoy LFS handling and listen to music at the same time, I go to a cruise server. Yeah, there are some more cruise servers around, but I can't really say I need to search for a good race, because I always know where to find one.

Yeah that's how I felt too, but you get use to it. Plus you can go back to Demo anytime you want... However the people there are so incredibly retarded it hurts.

The drift servers are usually a pretty good place to go, but most of the time I hit the cruise servers. ( I don't have the option of going to the race servers because really I don't like how my controller feels and I don't have a wheel) I enjoy the cruise servers, I worked my way up to an XRT and really I just use those servers to practice my drifting.

There is a lot of fast and good drivers that are on these servers to just..relaxe and take a break from the normal racing
