A clutch that *works*??

The manuals fine generally in that regard. And the setup instructions are excellent (IMO). It's just is says (can't remember exactly) that it works great with the G25, yet there's this clutch problem that apparently everyone knows about - well actually some obviously didn't - but still hasn't been fixed in the latest release, and isn't mentioned. For a while I thought my G25 was malfunctioning.

FWIW, the only thing about the setup that caught me out (maybe just dense) is that you need to turn the wheel all the way to the left and then to the right (beyond the range of the graphic) to ensure centering. (Which, btw, is a useful feature because it corrects the tendency for Logitechs to hang slightly of centre). Don't think that's there? Just a thought.

...when do you do this? i don't remember doing this on either of mine, but i do have a dodgy memory!
Whel i think my dfp works just fine if you ask me lfs is the best game i had sofar i only had like faky ims like GT4 man that game sucks if you ask me
Without the calibration lock on, or if I start LFS without the wheel plugged in (usually out of idiocy) then exit, plug it in and restart, I have to do this - along with flooring each pedal to make sure they calibrate. No big deal. Android is spot on about the transmission and the way it's implemented, this also makes it possible to shift without the clutch with matched revs. The factors that are present are not "wrong", in fact they're quite good. It's just the the lack of implementation of other dependancies that make it annoying, but those will change. Proper sequentials are on their way as well if things haven't changed since Scawen mentioned that a while ago, so I would bet that a number of transmission related updates will be on our plates soon...just hang in there.

It's not just about stalling. You can move the gear stick into gear WITHOUT the clutch and THEN put your foot on the clutch AFTERWARDS and it THEN selects the gear. :nut:

That's nothing to do with the clutch model, it's to do with the gearbox which ISI cars don't appear to follow conventional mechanical principles, they are in fact built on magic. My guess is you've never attempted to shift a car without declutching, what you'll find is if you don't match the revs you won't be able to get it into the next gear, this is due to the drive and engine side gears not being at the same speed so they won't mesh. In the real world if you forced the gear lever into a gear slot you'd break something, either strip the gears or more likely break the gear knob off. Now what would you rather happen when you try this in a sim, break the gearbox or break your G25, LFS's option looks a little better now doesn't it or would you just completely overlook the physics of the matter and magically mesh the gears ISI style?

Absolutely brilliant post, really. Really adds to the discussion.

Yeah i know, im a hypocrite, this post is just as pointless, but still.
not to bash the poster but this forum has been going downhill for a long time, and the constant flow of repeated posts is quite anoying, i wouldnt be surprised if this post went down in a flame war because of one silly post, come on, i think if one is able to find the forum and login then you can also read the rest of it before posting.
