Poll Results / Rules Clarification
After a week of voting and discussion it seems we can draw several conclusions from the poll threads.

1) The IGTC community is pretty well decided on the flip/reset issue (18-6 against some sort of reset): it will stay as it is--no reset at all. A flip means your race is over.

2) The community is not so decided on the 90% rule (10-10, basically): the rules for this issue will remain the same till the end of the season, and will be brought out for discussion again in preparation for Season 2, when we reconsider the points system.

3) You guys all care pretty deeply about your league, and we admins appreciate that very much.

So, in short, we will keep the current (Rd. 5) rules for both resets and DNFs/points for the remainder of the season. The former has been ruled out, the latter will be brought up again in preparation for season 2.

Thanks to everyone for their participation in resolving this.

Important changes for Rd. 6, summarized:
  • Every car must have at least two drivers per race. No single driver may drive more than 75% of the race distance.
  • When the SC/full-course yellow comes out, all drivers are to cease racing immediately and fall in line. This includes cars who are on the same lap with AND cars who are one or more laps apart in the standings. In other words, NO PASSING (with the exception of a lapped car that is ahead of the leader and passing the SC).
  • Under SC conditions, drivers are asked to drive at pit speed, but will not be required to use the pit speed limiter until the final sector of the lap leading up to the green flag. Prior to this final sector, drivers will give each other plenty of room (3-4 car lengths is recommended, but the gap can be larger as the field WILL bunch up before the restart). As the field enters the final sector, the leader will engage his pit speed limiter. At this time, the SC will drive off and leave the field under the control of the leader. Drivers behind the leader will carefully close the gap to the car ahead to a length of approximately 1 car length and engage their limiters as well. This should provide for a tightly bunched field as drivers come to the restart. Remember, any incidents involving car-to-car contact and taking place under the SC will face tough scrutiny and are subject to stiff penalties, so drive with a light foot and GIVE ROOM.
  • Under a SC period, drivers exiting the pits must maintain the positions they have when they exit. In other words, no passing someone after you've exited the pits but before you catch the field.
Thanks for the recap and summary Bones. I had almost forgotten about the polls.
Thanks for the update DWB. It is always good to sit and look at things from a new/different perspective, and I think we did that after last round.

I am looking forward to the last three rounds of this inaugural season, as everything remains to fight for in the points standings.

IGTC has been an innovative and forward-thinking series, and I look forward to seeing it grow in popularity and prominence within LFS and the whole sim-racing community.
Theres also one more minor point missing.

On restarts along with the race control message to show a green flag, there will also be a standard message for drivers with the blue flag message on screen.
Good point, Benji. Forgot to mention that one.
Quote :14.2) Shift + P (telepit) is not allowed, and will result in an instant DNF.

Does this rule apply to the qualify session as well ?
Right now, no.

I imagine that is in the interest of getting clean track for qualifying, but in a race, its instant DNF.

Are your teams thinking about getting involved full-time, or just getting a feel for it at your track?

This one should be a good addition, in fact, everything resulting from round 5 looks to be good.

(except the no single driver rule - only kidding, its a good rule)

Thanks for clarification

We plan to do all of the remaining races of the current season.
Then, we'll see...
Good to hear!
Ditto that, great news, welcome and good luck!

(btw, are you the spokesman? you aren't signed up in either car.)
