Cant delete LFS: Access is Denied.
Ok so I downloaded the Dedicated host from the main site and was messing around with it and messed something up, I deleted everything in the Dedicated file expect for Lfs Icon. I then tried to delete the Icon and I get a pop up say,
" Cannot Delete LFS: Access is denied"
Make sure disk is not full or Write-Protected and that the file is not currently in use.

I'm not sure what I did, so I extracted the files again and Opened lfs Dedicated Host and this time it says "TCP Sacket : bind failed"

What's going on???? How do I fix the problem??

Thanks-Mike
I bet there is somekind of activity from the software still, make sure that the software is shutdown by clicking ctrl-alt-del
Ctrl+Alt+Del>Task Manager>Processes>explorer.exe>End Process

(From Task Manager)File>Run>cmd

then delete the icon using the command prompt, and restart explorer.exe
I looked into it and there is no actitivty from lfs, I'll check again.

the much simple solution is to disable al the useless fanciness of the xp file browse since its usually that preview and info junk causing the problem
Well, if thats the case, maybe describe this simple soloution so people can cure the problem?
Oh yes, unlocker is a great little tool. I always have these delete problems when I do stuff with folders, like moving contents from one to another. For example when I install a new game and then from the default start menu entries like [Programs > Company > GameTitle] move the GameTitle folder to my Games one, I can guarantee you that I won't be able to delete the Company folder thereafter.
Generally such problems are related to open handles or to wrong file attributes. I use The Avenger by Swandog to delete these files.

Anyway since this case isn't related to purposefully wrong attributes used by malware files I'd perform a chkdsk before using The Avenger, and see if the problem goes away.

Edit: check NTFS permissions too (if you use XP Pro, if you use Home the only way to do it is from safe mode) and make sure you have administration rights.

just turn your fileborwser down to win95 levels and you should be fine
the problem mostly happens with movie files that are still open somewhere in the preview

If it's an exe file I would tip on some kind of copy protection scheme that got installed by another game and now thinks it needs to check all the exes on your machine when you select them.

Had that before with Securom.

Lovely tool. Just brilliant. Been using it for a while, works every time.

Right click > Unlocker > Unlock all > OK and you are done!
