Sebastian Bourdais wanted to get into nascar and F1 before. But after F1 closed the door on him and he tried NASCAR. Unfortunately he hasn't had any success so far. But recently both Nascar and F1 has opened their doors to Bourdais

Bourdais wants to sign up with a competitive team. But the Toro Rosso is the only one that's offering and Toro Rosso (Scott Speed, Tonio Liuzzi) isn't exactly competitive. Haas Racing in NASCAR (Jeff Green #66, and Jonny Sauter #70) isn't doing too bad. I mean they are about mid pack that occasionally fall to the back. But they are a lot better then others like Michael Waltrip Racing, Furniture Row Racing, and Front Row Motorsports.

Bourdais' interest in NASCAR started after he beat Mark Marin in the IROC and with Juan Pablo Montoya doing better in the later half of the season, Bourdais is encouraged.

But still he's getting a F1 offer and it's a once in a life time offer to F1 IMO, I dont think he'll want to miss this chance. Plus besides Montoya, all the other crossover drivers are struggling such as A.J. Allmendinger (who crossed over from open wheel). I think that'll discourage him a bit discouraged to get into NASCAR. But then again Toro Rosso isn't exactly a good team and Haas Racing in NASCAR is a much better on the long run compared to Toro Rosso.

When I read the title I thought he had signed a deal. You got my hopes up!

I don't care what he does, as long as its a series I don't watch... anything NASCAR, for instance. I can't stand that guy..

There are alot of rumors saying Bourdais is also linked with Williams.

Which would be a decent team to start on in F1..

and if Webber chooses to join another team next year, Red Bull would defenitaly be an option.

But a driver like him should be getting offers from Say BMW Sauber or Renault..

I agree, but I think he's linked with Toro Rosso because he's done a lot of testing with them. (Or so I've read)

I mean currently he's getting offers from Toro Rosso from F1 (if one of the two drivers are dropped) and Haas Racing which is either planning on fielding a third car or getting rid of Johnny Sauter. Currently I think he can do better in NASCAR mainly because Haas Racing isn't a bad team, while Toro Rosso......eh all I can say is that I haven't been hearing things that's too flattering.

He needs to make a career decision now.
He can either join Toro Rosso (it's likely that they'll drop one of their drivers) and hopefully work his way into a good F1 career. But again the Toro Rosso team can also ruin his career. But if he deny this offer it'll likely the the ONLY offer he'll get from F1.

Or

He can join Haas Racing, which is planning on fielding a third car or they are dropping Johnny Sauter. Haas Racing is a better team in NASCAR then Toro Rosso in F1 and he'll probably have a better chance in doing well in NASCAR then F1

Or

He can stay with ChampCar and dominate the series

Williams would be a good fit for him - I don't think he could get into one of the top 4 teams at the moment. Just ditch Wurz. Job done.

I just heard the Bourdais-Williams link from martin brundle a couple of races ago..

and Now that Vettel is driving for Torro Rosso for this year and next year, im sure its probably Bourdais only opportunity(if its even true)..

I dont think Williams will wont to ditch Wurz with the points he has been racking up..

I feel sorry for Nico though, as hes been better then Wurz all year just hes luck has been really bad..
