So...new to LFS, don't know which car to start of with?, then you're in the right place
A large propotion of it is skill, of course, but no amount of skill allows you to exceed what the car is technically capable of....there are some setups here.

If you've been on LFS demo for a while now...and you're an experienced XRG, XFG, XRT driver....than that will help....I would suggest starting on the 'CTRA Race 1' server...as there is much competition on this server...and a wide range of skill...as you experience...you will be lead to the more professional Cars, (harder to drive), such as the TBOs (XRT, FXO, RB4)....than the GTRs, these GTRs consist of, small GTRs, and Big GTRs,
Small GTRs: UFR, XFR
Big GTRs: FXR, XRR, FZ5 (I would recommend FXR, for faster, and easier driving)
Here is a list of the cars, and what they are used for
Drift: XRT, FZ5
Capable of Drift: RAC, LX4, LX6
Fast Race cars: GTRs (FXR, XRR, FZR), i suggest FXR
Rally: RB4
Fast Road Car: LX4, LX6
Close competition: XFG, XRG, UF1
Fast FWD: UFR, XFR
Reasonably Fast "Touring car" (TBO): XRT, FXO, RB4, (RB4 is fastest, than XRT, than FXO)
"Go Karting": MRT (For some reason, isn't used as much as i'd like to see
Fun Formula: FOX
When you know what your doing : BF1
Racing Lines
This thread can may be help you for drawing racing lines: Here !
It's not totaly useless but not as usefull as we would though. Seeing a map and a "real" track is a complet diffrent story hehe

Just try take the corners slower at first...than faster, basically, max speed you wanna be going is,
50 on the first corner, flat out on chicane, let go for 0.2 seconds, than floor it again half way through
Brake when the more darker tarmac starts...and get to a speed of about...65-67mph, and than till the last corner, take all those corners at mostly 70mph, and on last corner take that at...well, 70-75mph?, and then your all good, try to keep the car not sliding much, apart from maybe the first corner, you should get some good entry angle in that, it slows the car down well, and gets you going
good luck with that combo
Hope this little guide thing i put together in like...2 mins helps
Guide will be updated tomorrow 9:00 GMT, when i have more time, to put together a more detailed guide
Thanks
