Mute chat hotkeys in options screens
Something I've noticed is that when trying to set and test buttons in the controls page you can start send out chat messages by mistake, particularly annoying for other racers. I can't see any real need to be able to send out chat hotkeys when setting controls or using the options screen so maybe these hotkeys could be disabled when using the options pages?
2.5 years and I've always wondered the same thing. Can't believe no one has thought to post about it, including me, LOL.

Worst was when I was setting "C-ya" on an F key, and 15 others said cya, good night, laterz, good racing, bye, and on and on. After they all were done, I was like "er, I'm not leaving..." LOL.
couple ideas came to mind:
because it might interfere with your ability to interface with your insim programs
because you really ought to have your settings sorted before going online

You need to interface by typing commands with your InSim apps in the controls options page?

Of course they should but I doubt many people disconnect from a server when they decide they want to change their controls, part of the beauty of LFS is that the settings are so quick and easy to change, none of the cumbersome ISI sytle UI.

LOL! You owe me a new keyboard

That suggestion gets a +1 from me (the mute, that is)

And a big +1 to people who are friendly on servers
