W to X is 25.5MB, on dial up that's 1hr 20 mins, if you run LFS in windowed mode, what's to stop you minimising it and getting on with something else? I can understand not wanting to look at the update screen for over an hour, but downloading it manually won't speed the process up, unless you're going to download it somewhere else?
X to X10 is a little over 1MB so even on dial-up it should prove no problem (5 mins?).
