Whats wrong with CTRA race 2?
Hi, everytime i try to go onto race 2, i join, and get the message "JOOS - COUNT" I believe this is the case for others too. It just happened today when i tried to go on earlier, and now i cant get on
yep it's still doing that
We've done some maintenance and it's all ok now.
I think this might have been caused by me, I was developing new software for the STCC earlier and tried it online, and had a few issues to solve from migrating it from my local copy of LFS to the dedicated host, so in a fit of wisdom I tried a few updates until I did the one that tried to burst, um, is Sam about?

Well it fell over within a few seconds so wont have effected the bandwidth bill, but I think it also caused mass disconnects on all servers. Unfortunately due to the bandwidth being used I couldnt actually send the click to close the program, in fact, I had to restart and was reassured by the software having crashed when I got back! lol.

So you can blame this one on me. Sam says he restarted all the servers a little while after as it had left some issues behind.

On the plus side, i've got a cool new piece of software.

Becky this message keeps coming up now and then. Not just last night but for several time now. I thought you guys already knew this. But it is been doing this since the release of X patch. It is complety random and really I cant tell when this is occuring. The only thing I noticed it does happen in the first connection to CTRA. If not, youre oke, if it does, you get it the entire time your connected. You will be disconnected out of the blue and you recieve the message.

Normally when this happens LFS reconnect at once and your oke.
What you are describing there is not a CTRA issue, that's an LFS issue. I have had that since long before X patch.
I was on Race 2 last night for the first time since the re-release of CTRA. There was only 1 other person connected, but I figured when near empty is the better time to do setup work than when there are many others. Of course, forgot about the "join once" thing but....

So, a race was run, I went to the garage after about half of the race laps, then the other guy finished the race. I now know how people are moving through the licensing so fast compared to me running silver on the Race 1 server. I was under the impression that you do not receive points if there are less than x amount of racers. The other guy received 28 points for being the only one in the race while the best I've seen winning a Race 1 start is about 16. Not bad, run around all by yourself, gain almost twice the points as the Race 1 server puts out, and progress up to Platinum.

I don't care about points, but I was curious over how people in my timezone were progressing so fast when the Race 2 and above never have more than 2 people on them. Now I know that you can run on Race 1 with all the other silver, gold, and platinum racers and only gain 2 points because there could be some that you don't win, or go to Race 2 and gain 28 points just for running by yourself.

Anyways, I had thought it didn't award points with few people connected.
All servers award points when near empty because we want people to stay whilst more people join. If they offered none at all there would never be anyone in there so it would never take off.

Race 2 has become more popular of late, when I check up on it there is often a healthy conneciton list. B&J by contrast seems to be dying (novelty worn off?).

Maybe they get lost? i think the race2 is great, the gt2 class is amazing and the points are quite good too
I cant thank you enough Becky and Sam and all the team
I was kicked yesterday for spamming on the CTRA2 server when I did a single smiley

I've been racing the UF1 yesterday on that server so you get passed a lot by the quicker classes. Whenever there is a clear pass you exchange something like a smiley to show appreciation for that. So in a couple of minutes I might have been showing the same smiley a couple of times, but there was quite a lot of time in between them every time.

Not quite sure if it is a bug of some sort or what the exact time allowed is before it is considered spamming. It might even have been an internet gremlin causing this
Happened in the race somewhere between 10.45 and 11.17am CET.

Oh and I now hold the laprecord on AS1 in the UF1, which is something of a miracle

Yup that's true, I was there and was suprised

Added replay, lap 13 or 14.
