I was on Race 2 last night for the first time since the re-release of CTRA. There was only 1 other person connected, but I figured when near empty is the better time to do setup work than when there are many others. Of course, forgot about the "join once" thing but....
So, a race was run, I went to the garage after about half of the race laps, then the other guy finished the race. I now know how people are moving through the licensing so fast compared to me running silver on the Race 1 server. I was under the impression that you do not receive points if there are less than x amount of racers. The other guy received 28 points for being the only one in the race while the best I've seen winning a Race 1 start is about 16. Not bad, run around all by yourself, gain almost twice the points as the Race 1 server puts out, and progress up to Platinum.
I don't care about points, but I was curious over how people in my timezone were progressing so fast when the Race 2 and above never have more than 2 people on them. Now I know that you can run on Race 1 with all the other silver, gold, and platinum racers and only gain 2 points because there could be some that you don't win, or go to Race 2 and gain 28 points just for running by yourself.
Anyways, I had thought it didn't award points with few people connected.
